Looks like a type of caterpillar to me?

BankWadger · 14/04/2017 22:44

It's a caterpillar.

Applebite · 14/04/2017 22:45

It's a baby butterfly. Does that make it more appealing? Smile

M2R2 · 14/04/2017 22:45

Its so tiny. I though its a thread from a wool hat till dd point out that its moving.
I could only see it like that by zooming

Mumteedum · 14/04/2017 22:46

Carpet beetle larvae (Google image search)

M2R2 · 14/04/2017 22:48

No please no. Does that mean there is more in my carpet???

AirandMungBeans · 14/04/2017 22:49

How long is it? It looks like a moth caterpillar to me.

elodie2000 · 14/04/2017 22:50

It's missing bits for a woodlouse. Baby caterpillar?

What is that!!!
elodie2000 · 14/04/2017 22:52

Oohhh!!

What is that!!!
M2R2 · 14/04/2017 22:59

About 5mm long and so hairy. Exactly like a wool thread 😢

M2R2 · 14/04/2017 23:08

Elodie it does look a bit like that.
Am freaking out now. What shall i do

IloveBanff · 14/04/2017 23:13

What should you do? Confused How about evicting it?

Hawkmoth · 14/04/2017 23:14

It looks like a first instar Vapourer Moth larva to me, where was it?

M2R2 · 14/04/2017 23:21

Hawkmoth it's definitely all black.
I was folding the laundry and dd noticed it on her hand. So to be honest not sure if it was on the laundry or somewhere else.
I had the laundry by the window and was open all day. As a first reaction i though it came from outside as i have grass straight outside my window.
My skin feels itchy now.

pictish · 14/04/2017 23:22

Are you for real?

M2R2 · 14/04/2017 23:25

Picktish is it the first time you see someone freaking out? I can't stand things that crawl its not something i can control

OP posts:
Hawkmoth · 14/04/2017 23:26

Vapourers lay eggs on walls so it could have just crawled in. Pop it outside. It's fine.

Scottishchick39 · 14/04/2017 23:29

Looks like a baby hairy granny caterpillar to me.

IloveBanff · 14/04/2017 23:32

I just can't understand why you're taking photos and asking what to do instead of just chucking it outside.

pictish · 14/04/2017 23:32

It's minuscule and completely harmless.

Scottishchick39 · 14/04/2017 23:32

Oof! Just googled hairy granny to see what the official name for that caterpillar was, I didn't expect the results I got 😳😳😂😂

pictish · 14/04/2017 23:33

It's a wee caterpillar btw. Just shake the hat outside.

M2R2 · 14/04/2017 23:44

Ilovebanff i sure did chuck it outside.
I took pictures to check what it is as i am scared that i may have more or something.
Asking what to do doesn't relate to this single one. Am thinking if it is a carpet beetle larvae or something there might be more. Thats why am freaking out

OP posts:
pictish · 14/04/2017 23:47

Or maybe a beetle larvae as suggested earlier.
Nothing to worry about.

M2R2 · 14/04/2017 23:50

Hope to never see something like it again.
I know it must be harmless but the thought of something crawling in my carpet give me shivers.
