Very balanced imo. It's just all so sad, all the advancements in science, technology and not to mention peace ☮️. Binned due to a few billionaires persuading people to vote for something that is not in their interest and fake bus adverts. This has set me off again today :(

We all, yes all, have to take responsibility for the vote - that includes people who didn't vote, and crucially, it means realising and accepting that characterising it this way isn't really helping anything.

Claiming a view millionaires hoodwinked people (with the implication that people are gullible fools) is hardly less nasty and divisive than the rest of the campaigning is it?

I've watched it, but tbh it doesn't say anything that's not been said already. The point we are at now, Brexit triggered etc, means that griping at the situation is not going to achieve or change anything. Why not get involved in campaigning for a Brexit that makes it a bit more palatable for you? Raising the same issues again and again will just make you stressed and surround you with negative energy. No-one is going to come on this thread and change their mind on how they voted based on this YouTube clip, and based on past Brexit threads, it will soon descend into nastiness and name calling.

Leave voter here. The video was mostly moderate and factual and while I disagree with the conclusions they came to (and the focus on the military!) I did appreciate a couple of the points they were trying to make.

Certainly no tears here, though. And while the video is one of the more balanced pro-EU arguments I've seen, this certainly isn't:

I actually clicked on it because I didn't understand the question - but now I'm guessing you meant tear not year? If not then I'm still confused what you meant (and I still find it patronising that you think people who voted to leave were hoodwinked - that attitude makes you look like a fool who won't stop complaining because they haven't got their own way))

Given that very few EU Member States that are also NATO nations have any form of effective defence, then having a powerful military means squat. That's why they rely on NATO, they might have to spend money otherwise.

I mean what is that about? Is it to demean and belittle? I think it must be. But it's interesting how quickly (within a day), that narrative was adopted. Curious about this.

Dead souls, in this instance because in this instance the OP is wanting people to share a tear based on a video which shows cutesy infantilised bombers and tanks waving various European flags all going off together to promote 'cultural understanding' presumably by bombing some EU enemy to bits.

Which is rather similar to the North Korean propaganda that the BBC were highlighting on the news yesterday, right down to the cute little planes and tanks.

My post actually wasn't an attack but more of a curiosity about why it was that particular language that was picked up and ran with. Like 'snowflake' etc. And of course, there were assumptions/are assumptions made from remainers to leavers.

What is funny is that all the bombers and tanks use NATO standardised weapons, so they are interoperable.

No point the EU having a military; they wouldn't use it and would take years and use QMV to decide on the command structure. Perhaps it would be rotating like the Presidency of the Council of the EU.

As for the bit about Brussels being strange and remote, I agree, and I live just outside it!

Sorry i stand by my hoodwinked stance. I was glued to the news following the result and most of the people interviewed in places like the north and Wales clearly didn't have a clue what they voted for. A Welsh woman looked shocked when she was told that EU funding would stop, ffs! It is a known statistic that most people that attended university were remainders.

I attended university and voted leave.

I also spent as much time as i could reading the EU website and their plans for the future. That's why i voted leave. I made an actual informed decision not based on newspapers or politicians or buses.

And has it occurred to you, oh wise one, that the news may be only showing the people who back their options? They have been known to be a bit biased in the past.

Those who attended university are statistically more likely to be affluent and therefore to have directly benefited from EU membership. Less well-educated people are more likely to be working-class or poor and to have suffered the negative effects of EU policies.

Different classes have different interests. This isn't surprising. Conflating education level with intelligence is in the interests of some people and not others, too.

But if you prefer to interpret your statistic as 'leave voters are all clueless and thick' I doubt anything I have to say will change your mind.

EU funding won't immediately stop in Wales though. It will remain in place for a few more years and then the Barnet formula will have to be renogtiated which may or may not change the overall funding levels in Wales.

Yes i agree that there are other factors at play with most well educated people voting to remain and i in no way said more intelligent people went to uni. Just that they went to uni, one of the most intelligent people i know is a school dropout.
