Pink and blue kinder eggs? When the fuck did that happen?

Cos apparently you can now get Barbies in the pink ones and proper toys in the blue ones (come on, no-one honestly thinks that Barbie counts as proper toys, surely?). When did this happen? I coped with them no longer having serious cogs and wheels for H&S reasons but who the fuck thought that genderising them was the way forward?

I hate it, its either Barbies or Smurfs (or if you're lucky, normal ones) but they're so tasty...

How did I miss this? I have been picking up three packs very occasionally (and slightly resentfully because they don't have proper build-them-yourself toys any more) and never noticed. Fuck. I'm genuinely (and possibly belatedly) furious. Angry

Theyve changed the advertising though.Theyre not marketed as girls and boys, just barbie and some other cartoon (I forget) related toy. It's up to you which one you buy depending on what your child would prefer.

After witnessing the tantrum when a boy opened a lego figure to find it was a fairy, I don't think it's a completely rubbish idea

Just picked these up today for Easter and was so surprised

I had to laugh at the wording "for boys" and "for girls" just in case you were going to give the blue one to your girl by mistake

I don't really see the issue to be honest. Barbie IS a proper toy and has been since the 50s -millions of children have played will Barbie dolls, she is as much a toy as a thomas train or a model car. Pink and blue are only colours -nobody is saying a girl must buy pink and a boy blue. My nephew chose a pink egg yesterday.

A few years ago. I stopped buying kinder eggs for me, I don't have DC overnight.

Except I fell off the "I'm not buying them" a couple of weeks ago when I needed a wonder woman. It only took three boxes and I got one (I have also got two Green Lantern figurines that look oddly like Barack Obama), so now I have re-stopped buying them.

I think they're better, as you're guaranteed a 'special' toy rather than a random bit of tat and no arguments like me and my sister had when I got one of the little turtles and she didn't

Bought some 3 packs here in Spain last week to give to colleagues and had one left so gave it to DH as he loves Kinder chocolate. The toy was a Batman figurine which I think any kid would like. The packaging was not gendered, just the usual white and red Kinder branding.

What's even more annoying is today I got a car with three bits of race track and a picture clearly showing that more race track is needed, making me need to buy more eggs to find more race track bits (luckily I already planned on buying them to make an Easter dessert by lopping the tops off and filling the hole with chocolate mousse)

The choices are actually pink barbie eggs, another 'brand' one, (blue) but can't remember what it is, and a pot luck orange original. I think it fine.

Pink is typically the Barbie colour though -it has been for years and years. Pink packaging, pink outfits. It is the brand colour. They wouldn't do Cinderella blue as that's Disney. It's recognised by the target customer.

Kinder refer to them as their 'pink and blue range'. They change the toy brand in them, but not the pink and blue.

My son and daughter both had blue ones today, they had super hero's in them. My daughter picked blue because it has a superhero. The "girl" toy is pink and the "boy" toy is blue but it is not labelled as boy or girl, maybe they should use colours like red and green.

You know that the colours aren't legally enforceable right? So buy your DD a blue one, or your DS a pink one or Whatever they want! It is not a gender crisis!
