AIBU or Pfb? Ref a scabby shoot

Hello fellow vipers, haven't logged on in months but actually have a dilemma if I'm being pfb or not.

My bil (26) moved into his first house over the past couple of weeks. We went to see the house this past weekend. Lying out in the joint walkway is one of those shoots that's about 5/6 foot high. He thinks it belonged to the previous owners. He had mentioned to his mum (my mil watches my ds one day a week) that they can have the shoot, it just needs a rub down and repainted. I was instantly gave my dh the "not over my dead body face" but said nothing. Now, my ds is just over 1. He wouldn't be able to use said shoot for several years, my mils garden is only concrete no grass. This thing is god knows how many years old and will be years older by the time it would be used. And it's been exposed to all elements and wildlife for god knows how many years.

So, do I mention to mil that I don't want my son using said shoot, or is it not that big of a deal a la, stop being pfb.

I don't know what a shoot is, but I guarantee you won't care how dirty it is by the time he is five. Unless it's a hypodermic needle, yabu and pfb

Sirzy · 05/04/2017 07:13

Do you mean a slide?

As long as it's cleaned up and safe and somewhere safe I can't see a major problem.

VivienneWestwoodsKnickers · 05/04/2017 07:13

Shoot? I don't know what you're talking about, sorry....

BeansMcCready · 05/04/2017 07:13

Do you mean a slide?

Crankycunt · 05/04/2017 07:13

What is a shoot?

Charlie97 · 05/04/2017 07:14

What is a shoot?

VivienneWestwoodsKnickers · 05/04/2017 07:15

Sorry, just twigged. Chute. (Not a grammar check, just me being dense before a cup of tea).

Charlie97 · 05/04/2017 07:15

Ahh you mean "chute" as in slide?

If so, then they are in parks for years and children use them all the time.

Very PFB, you wouldn't expect it to be taken in every night!

Trifleorbust · 05/04/2017 07:17

Do you let your child use the 'shoot' in the park? Bird crap all over it. PFB, sadly!

mcdog · 05/04/2017 07:17

Shoot?? Slide i'm guessing. How clean do you think a slide at a park is OP?

Universitychallenging · 05/04/2017 07:17

You Mean a slide? I hope you're not planning on ever taking your PFB to the play park?

Soubriquet · 05/04/2017 07:20

Is it a slide?

Tbh I don't think I would get it either..I'm no stranger to second hand products but that sounds quite tatty

msgrinch · 05/04/2017 07:23

A slide? Yes YABU.

bloodymaria · 05/04/2017 07:24

D'oh! I was thinking 'shoot' was a gun! I need coffee. If it's a chute, then yes you are totally being pfb.

If it is a giant gun, then no, carry on as you are Wink

GipsyDanger · 05/04/2017 07:25

Ha ha! Yes, a slide Grin

Sorry, no giant guns bloody Blush
Ok, I'll just defer to my mil judgment on this one, it's her garden that would house it after all.

Are you Scottish? Think we say chute rather than slide!

TheFirstMrsDV · 05/04/2017 07:37

I thought this thread was going to be about unsavoury drug taking practices.

I am so relieved its about a grubby slide.

WellErrr · 05/04/2017 07:39

Do some people bring their slides in every night? Shock

YABU

cafenoirbiscuit · 05/04/2017 07:41

I was wondering if it was a plant Confused

Mulberry72 · 05/04/2017 07:42

YABU & VPFB

twocockers · 05/04/2017 07:42

I wouldn't be worried about the slide but the fact it was on concrete.

DoodleFunker · 05/04/2017 07:58

And it's been exposed to all elements and wildlife for god knows how many years.

Does your kid play outside? That place that's been exposed to all the elements and wildlife for eternity?

MrsMuddlePluck · 05/04/2017 08:03

I was brought up in Glasgow- didn't think it was a chute ? It's a shoot? Coz you 'shoot' down it.
