To say rice pudding is the food

Of the devil!?!?

Even my eldest who ate EVERYTHING, gagged at a very young age at rice pudding.

I make it for OH and youngest and I have to turn my head away when I take it out of the oven.

Astro55 · 04/04/2017 21:54

Nothing wrong with rice pudding with a dollop of raspberry jam

Scarlottie · 04/04/2017 21:54

Looks like cat sick Sad

HeyMicky · 04/04/2017 21:55

It's disgusting. All slimy with that gross skin on top

DoloresTheRunawayTrain · 04/04/2017 21:55

Rice pudding is great with sultanas, brown sugar and cinnamon.

Semolina pudding is fantastic with a great dollop of strawberry jam.

Tapioca pudding is Satans frog spawn.

PuppyMonkey · 04/04/2017 21:56

Horrid stuff. I had a friend at university who had the unusual talent of being able to look at someone she'd just met and predict if they did or did not like rice pudding. It was very entertaining and she was usually right. Grin

NameChanger22 · 04/04/2017 21:56

I love it. I even eat it cold out of the tin. Homemade with a blob of golden syrup is the best.

CatherineHate · 04/04/2017 21:56

It's so tasty! It's my comfort food

I do agree that it has to be hot though, MIL eats it straight from the tinShock

UppityHumpty · 04/04/2017 21:57

English rice pudding is manky. But rice pudding from literally anywhere else is good.

Anniegetyourgun · 04/04/2017 21:57

Rice pud, very good, what's it all about
Made it in a kettle and they couldn't get it out
Everybody took a turn to suck it through the spout
In the old bazaar in Cairo.

(Please ignore the rampant sexism - it was the 60s.)

Charlie97 · 04/04/2017 21:58

robinia · 04/04/2017 22:02

Rice pudding and semolina both staples in the robin household and the little chicks love them. Beautiful creamy deliciousness #yum

Rachel's Rice Pudding is lovely, much nicer than Muller Rice.

My aunt also makes a lovely RP.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 04/04/2017 22:05

It is revolting I can't even look at it

ds loves it but he has to eat it elsewhere

FamilySpartan · 04/04/2017 22:06

YABVVVVVU!! You need someone to make you a decent rice pudding Grin

lottachocca · 04/04/2017 22:08

Homemade is lovely with some orange zest - the bought suff is minging.

AdoraBell · 04/04/2017 22:09

Depends. Is this cold rice pudding you are referring to, or a home made one straight from the oven?

My DH eats disgusting gloop canned rice pudding, cold. The mere sight of witch makes me heave.

I cook rice pudding all for me and eat it while still hot. This is delicious.

HTH Grin

BeastofCraggyIsland · 04/04/2017 22:10

Ugh, it's revolting stuff. It looks like it's already been partially digested.

jay55 · 04/04/2017 22:10

The smell makes me retch. Have to leave the office when people eat the chiller versions at their desks. Shudder.

Charlie97 · 04/04/2017 22:11

I refer to homemade....but it matters not!

It's vile! I use cinnamon and cream or whatever. As I say DH and DS2 love it, but they are wrong.,..very wrong.

MiladyThesaurus · 04/04/2017 22:13

I hate rice pudding too. Everyone in my house hates it, even DS2 whose favourite food is rice.

In fact FIL, who will eat pretty much anything, won't eat rice pudding. That's how horrible it is.
