To ask how much debt you're in?

Just need cheering up really. In around £6000 worth of debt. Just wanna know what others people's debts are and if you are avoiding them or facing them. I am facing mine but the whole thing is really scary and overwhelming. I wish I were as sensible with money back then as I am now. I feel such a fool. What debts do you guys have?

This isn't going to cheer you up much (surely there are better ways of cheering yourself up? ) - my only debt is the mortgage.

Mortgage. I steer clear of credit cards and loans. If I want it then I save for it

At the moment, none. But have been in more than £10k and worked my way out. Hope you can find a way to do that too OP!

Just under 45k I'd say. Two personal loans (one for a kitchen, one for a car) and one specialist loan for a business. They'll all be paid off within 3-5years time. Costs just over 1k a month to service. I try not to dwell on it. We needed a new kitchen, I can't work without a car and if I didn't have the business loan I'd have no business!
Just plug away paying it down and don't go mental on credit cards. It is what it is and you are sorting it out. There's not much more you can do.

My only debt is our mortgage. We have no car loans/personal loans/credit cards.

Just the mortgage now but was over 10k in debt at one point. Managed to clear it and have built up a good credit rating again, feels great knowing that all our earnings are ours. 6k is not a huge amount, you'll get there

Only a mortgage. And that stresses me. I like nice things but I also need to know I can afford them. Which means I don't have many nice things!

£16k probably! Chipping away slowly and meeting minimum payments - it bothers me some days but not others depends on my mood!

10k. But worth every penny! Central heating and new kitchen.

£22k for a fairly recent loan to buy car, new kitchen and pay off credit cards and remainder of previous loan. It's just over £400 per month as is less than the previous loan. DH and I realised years ago that we can't save enough for expensive items so we do 'buy now, pay later' and have done for years. Loan amounts are always manageable. I don't worry about it.

£800 owed on a credit card. Doesn't look like much but I have a very very little income so it's hard to pay off.

None at all. Bust a gut to pay off the mortgage. But I am quite old.

Nothing at all, but this may change if my Husband cant find a better paying job soon as we are expecting a baby.

About £400 on a credit card but should be paid off within a month or two. Was up to £3k at one point last year.

None now other than mortgage but have had £15k before that I had to work hard to clear, it took 6 years so very reluctant to ever get credit again unless I know I could comfortably clear it in as short a time as possible. It would have to be for something very important. I currently own my car out right when it comes to getting a new one I will need a loan for that.

Guess I'm just stressed because these were debts mainly ran up by STBXH, he ordered everything on credit in my name and now he's sitting pretty with cool salary and I'm left with the debt. Admittedly some of it is mine but I'm so very frugal and a woman of little pleasures I don't know how I ended up living such a materialistic lifestyle with him. Very annoyed with myself

None. Mortgage free, pay my credit card in full every month, bill is not more than £200.

I've been careful over the years in part because of a lazy, workshy now exh.

About 25k unsecured. Not a high earner.

Disturbed me today that I have applied for more 0% interest cards in the past few days and have basically been offered another 10k of unsecured debt as they don't require you to close the old cards.

Ridiculous really. Our mortgage is only £267 a month - we pay about three times that on unsecured stuff. Totally down to bad planning, overspending and no will power.

£13000 for extension to the house and new bathroom. Mortgage on top.

None, not even a mortgage. I have been in incredible debt though years ago and worked my socks off to repay it as soon as I could. You can do it but remember to build a little money in your budget for you and not just debt repayments.

I have a morgage which is quite low and i've nearly finished paying off my car after 4 years.
Though have had only 1 cheap holiday in 8 years as i've been a single parent all that time. I live within my means and dream of winning the lottery.
