On my phone, when you send a text and then go back to the home page/do something else then go back into texts, it stays on the message conversation of the last person you messaged. I don't text many people and 99% of the time it's on my husbands message convo.

I've got my driving test tomorrow morning and my instructor has just text me to say he isn't very well and likely to have to postpone my test which could be another 8 weeks away now. Not instructors fault but I'm angry/upset as I'm going to have to pay again, too late to cancel now.

Anyway, I've text my husband (at work) and told him. I called instructor a few names as not been happy with him for few weeks but didn't want change instructor with being so close to test. Except I sent the text to my instructor and not my husband. Bollocks.

I know his address so I'm thinking of sending him something off amazon but don;t know what.

My problem with Dave was that yesterday was the 5th time he had cancelled on me

Do not send him anything!

At all.

He's messed you around for a longtime!
Maybe hes not a real instructor so cannot set foot in a test centre?

Congratulations on passing your test without dickhead dave

Well done OP! Did you pass first time? How many lessons did you have?

I think the thank you text was enough.

purplecoathanger · 03/04/2017 15:52

Well done OP, that's fantastic news! Congratulations on your twins as well. Flowers

Sciurus83 · 03/04/2017 16:02

Well done!
This from David Doherty cracks me up on the topic of sending the text to the person the text was about!

CotswoldStrife · 03/04/2017 16:03

Congratulations on passing the driving test, and I hope the rest of your pregnancy runs smoothly too!

MiniCooperLover · 03/04/2017 16:03

Assuming you paid for the lessons Dave has been thanked enough !! Congratulations

MrsSpenserGregson · 03/04/2017 16:16

Congratulations OP!

Don't send Dave anything. You've already paid for your lessons.

This thread has reminded me that my driving instructor - 28 years ago omg - was called Dave!

AnnieAnoniMouse · 03/04/2017 16:27

🎉 Congratulations! 🥂🍰

Please don't send him anything. You've aplologised far more than he deserved. He needs to sort himself out.

MuttsNutts · 03/04/2017 16:55

Oh well done!

As for Dave, your apology was enough - he really doesn't deserve anything else. If you hadn't managed to find someone else for yourself you would have been out of pocket (and still with no driving licence this evening) through no fault of your own.

Middleagedmumoftwo · 03/04/2017 17:30

It doesn't have to be dual control, my son did his test in my car.

OVienna · 03/04/2017 17:31

My problem with Dave was that yesterday was the 5th time he had cancelled on me. Every time was a different excuse and I really don't know whether he was ill or not and felt it was just another excuse. He managed to double book me once and I'd paid somebody to look after my kids and he never showed up. He's only been an instructor for 2 years and was cheaper due to his lack of experience.*

Don't bother sending him anything, as others have said.

It's a lesson for you - certainly - but also a lesson for him. He has to up his game if he wants to keep customers.

hibbledobble · 03/04/2017 17:33

Congratulations on passing!

I found learning while pregnant much harder (and failed!) So extra well done!

Flyinggeese · 03/04/2017 17:38

Congratulations OP. Definitely don't send anything to the instructor though.

Alexandra87 · 03/04/2017 17:39

Congratulations. I wouldn't bother sending anything either

QuiteUnfitBit · 03/04/2017 17:42

was the 5th time he had cancelled on me Unless you've had absolutely hundreds of lessons, I don't think that your text to him was that bad in the circumstances!!! Congratulations!

Koolchique · 03/04/2017 17:47

Oh please, don't say if you fail... focus on passing and get this over and done with. A couple of posters said they passed in spite of what they faced. You go girl!
All the best!!!

Dumdedumdedum · 03/04/2017 17:48

Congratulations! On passing, and on passing whilst pregnant with twins! Forget about "Dave", the fact you passed was because he had done his job up to a point, but most of it was down to you, I'm guessing - as pp have said, he needs to understand the concept of "customer service" and having a good reputation!

Koolchique · 03/04/2017 17:48

Oops! You passed. Congratulations! Grin

Wikky · 03/04/2017 17:51

I think it was nice of you to send the quick text today. I wouldn't send anything else. It's fine how it is. Your rude text was quite rude so I think sending the apology yesterday and the quick follow up text today was ok. I know he was unprofessional cancelling on you so often but that doesn't mean you can't apologize for the rude text.

Cleanermaidcook · 03/04/2017 17:51

Congratulations, and thanks for the giggle :) I wouldn't send *Dave anything.

Norfolkgirl1 · 03/04/2017 17:52

Congratulations on passing your test. Definitely nothing to the driving instructor.

William85953 · 03/04/2017 17:58

I hope its a good friend!

Irishmomma14 · 03/04/2017 17:58

Love it serves him right lol

SuperMoonIsKeepingMeUpToo · 03/04/2017 18:02

This has reminded me about my instructor being unreliable when I was learning 30+ years ago. He'd let me down a couple of times, not showing up, so I phoned to ask that he reimburse the balance of the cost of my untaken, prepaid lessons (17th birthday present). His wife told me he had died. He was bloody ancient and, I think had Parkinson's so it wasn't terribly surprising.

I still got the money back.

MatildaTheCat · 03/04/2017 18:04

Well done!

You definitely don't need to send him anything but if you insist, how about a 'Time management for Dummies' type manual?
