People ssem to be very angry for a sunny Saturday morning.
Give them the option- KFC choose your meal or Nandos get what you're given.

Piehunter · 25/03/2017 11:24

As a teenager from about age 13/14 if we went out for a bday meal for a friend it was expected that we brought money to pay ourselves, by that point we were all dropped off to eat alone and so no parent to foot the bill!

How old is your DD. Mine has been arranging to meet friends in restaurants ( well, Nandos or GBK) for birthdays since she was 11.... they all pay for their own meals.

GrumpyOldBag · 25/03/2017 11:28

Shoulda gone to Pizza Hut ....

1horatio · 25/03/2017 11:29

I don't get it... If you can afford it? awesome.
If you can't? it seems like other places offer similar things for less (you yourself mentioned KFC).

this is just weird...

JustSpeakSense · 25/03/2017 11:32

I don't know why this thread has annoyed so many people Grin

Nando's is lush but can be pricy for what it actually is.

Unfortunately there are no discount codes etc. I usually encourage mine to 'party' at pizza express and use my Tesco Clubcard points.

Hope your DC has a lovely birthday.

LuxCoDespondent · 25/03/2017 11:34

Bloody "entitled" kids! Must get it from their parents who think they are "entitled" to a fucking discount...

1horatio · 25/03/2017 11:38

Btw. I hope your daughter has an awesome party. Good luck and have fun!! :)

ProudBadMum · 25/03/2017 11:42

Oh I do like a Nando's. It's not that pricey really. Think a meal out for 3 of us is about £25.

Go for the platters. Think they are around £20 and serve 3/4, bottomless drinks.

CampingManDad · 25/03/2017 12:01

don't worry it'll be the platter alright.
A small chips each and 5 gallons of bottomless coke to fill them up!

She's 12 by the way and that's only part of the party...2hrs 9 mins of feckin beauty and the beast.
Grrrrrrrr!!!!!

This made me laugh. Nando's has to be the least middle class thing ever

WayfaringStranger · 25/03/2017 12:06

OP, please can I come? I really fancy a chicken pitta.

ActuallyThatsSUPREMECommander · 25/03/2017 12:06

I didn't know about the new one per day rule. It used to be one stamp with a minimum six quid spend - I don't think it's cheeky to want to get more points for a hundred quid spend than for a tenner.

PutThatPomBearBack · 25/03/2017 12:07

My house cost well over £100, can I have a discount please?

ActuallyThatsSUPREMECommander · 25/03/2017 12:13

But home sellers don't routinely offer discount vouchers. Chain restaurants do. I'm probably going to buy lunch for four people at Franky and Johnnies tomorrow. First thing I did when I realised that was the nearest option to where I was going to be was to log into their website and check for codes. That's not "entitled", that's simply awareness of standard business practice. And the more you're going to spend, the more motivated you are to see whether there's a deal out there

Oakmaiden · 25/03/2017 12:13

Beauty and the Beast is OK. I was dreading it, but it was perfectly watchable. Nothing special, but not painful either.

Flipthebirdy · 25/03/2017 12:14

Bring a birthday cake for dessert.

Astoria7974 · 25/03/2017 12:15

Why take them some place you can't afford or even have a party you can't afford? Better to do something at home instead instead of begging for voucher codes/

Nineinchnails · 25/03/2017 12:15

The meat at Nando's comes from horrible places. The same as KFC. Be kind, don't go there.

FFS. In my day it was a few sausages on sticks and a game of pass the parcel round my house!
