AIBU to send DS into school wearing this masterpiece for comic relief?

My DS (4) has crazy hat day tomorrow for comic relief and I thought I'd be inventive and make him a paper mache volcano hat. Tinsel to be added to create a lava effect, and red paint also will be added for lava streams etc, and another coat of the brown paint but I'm slightly worried about the current effect. Does anyone else think that it looks slightly.....suspect??? BlushGrin

Should I go back to the drawing board while I still have time and credibility?

The 'bushes' look like rotten meatballs with ketchup descending towards them....

Grin Oh the teachers will be sniggering at you!

TaffetaMuttonfudge · 23/03/2017 13:42

Bit I think I've already reached that point. Much easier to order on Amazon and spend the rest of my time doing something I'm good at drinking wine. Grin

I double, triple dare you to go outside in it for 1minute....

Go on op you know you want to!! Grin

TaffetaMuttonfudge · 23/03/2017 13:44

LaContessa - luckily I've decided not to be that cruel (unless he plays up at breakfast tomorrow Wink) and I've done the kindest thing I can think of an bought him a hat from the party shop! The finished product is purely for mumsnet Grin

Lana - I'll raise the stakes a bit higher and promise to wear it to his wedding in x years time - perfect mother of the groom hat!

Autumnal - I'm good but not that good. That is inspired though! Grin

I actually think it's great. Partly because it really does look like a 4yo made it Grin

Actually I don't know why I'm mocking. It's 1000% better than anything I could make

TaffetaMuttonfudge · 23/03/2017 13:57

Bit - very true. If I got him to add some model people screaming and running away from Mt Gorilla's Bellend, or some burning cows, I could legitimately say he made it... hmm (rubs chin thoughtfully)

For some reason I can't see pic of finished item... really want to see it!

Twistmeandturnme · 23/03/2017 14:01

Can we see the finished hat then, or are you saving it for tomorrow?
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE (hoping it's as good as that evil fox easter hat from a few years back).

CoffeeAndEnnui · 23/03/2017 14:03

Argh, I can't see a photo of the big reveal, it continues to be The Emperor's New Cockano even when I hit refreshSad

CoffeeAndEnnui · 23/03/2017 14:06

(In the meantime I have just remembered the expression knock into a cocked hat and am snorting most inelegantly. Carry on.)

TaffetaMuttonfudge · 23/03/2017 14:14

Added more forest (I know they look like sprouts) just to improve it a bit Grin, but will post that tomorrow as I've posted too many.

Oh no, can people not see the pics? I can on the app. If still no joy later, I'll repost them tomorrow.

ASDismynormality · 23/03/2017 14:29

The first thing I thought when I saw it was volcano - prob because I made one with my son over half term!

As long as he's happy send him in it.

TaffetaMuttonfudge · 23/03/2017 14:29

Thanks Twist - will have a look after the school run.

Hopefully the pics will upload to the app soon, if not I'll post tomorrow again. It is epic in it's shitness Grin
