AIBU to send DS into school wearing this masterpiece for comic relief?

My DS (4) has crazy hat day tomorrow for comic relief and I thought I'd be inventive and make him a paper mache volcano hat. Tinsel to be added to create a lava effect, and red paint also will be added for lava streams etc, and another coat of the brown paint but I'm slightly worried about the current effect. Does anyone else think that it looks slightly.....suspect??? BlushGrin

Should I go back to the drawing board while I still have time and credibility?

Sorry, been busy today and totally forgot to upload to very finished product!!!

He didn't wear it to school for fear of curvature of the spine, but he loves it even though it makes him look like a bizarre leprechaun. Grin

Can't believe I made top billing on the daily email roundup - I'd like to thank Sainsbury's for providing the paint and flour/water/kitchen roll to make the paper mache, and of course everyone here for staying with me through the last 24 hours. GrinWink

38cody · 24/03/2017 17:50

TaffetaMuttonfudge · 24/03/2017 17:51

My son had to do crazy hair day at nursery. He already has masses of blonde curls which random old women love to touch and comment on. I hairsprayed it so it stuck up but didn't make it much crazier than usual so had the "bright idea" of running blue food colouring through it. Problem is it's a bugger to get off and we're at my Nanna's 90th tomorrow so he's going to fit in with the blue rinse brigade and be fussed over even more if it won't come out! Please can we borrow cock turd hat to cover it up?!

NorksAreMessy · 24/03/2017 18:13

Cock turd Brussels hat!
Completely and utterly wonderful, thank you so much Grin

philoSlothical17 · 24/03/2017 18:23

Meat and 2 veg Grin

onlyMeeeee · 24/03/2017 18:24

OP, I realise this is totally too late but my 4yo dc just saw the pic of it (half finished) and said "Wow! That's a volcano!"... I hope you feel thoroughly vindicated - your hard work paid off Grin

SummerHouse · 24/03/2017 18:24

The gangrenous cock has been laid to rest on a bed of ...... sprouts, having been severed from its body. Smile

Katie0705 · 24/03/2017 18:24

Taffetta...thank you so much for thus thread, its been absolutely brilliant. I am still laughing now!

Have you thought about taking up professional hat design? Grin

TaffetaMuttonfudge · 24/03/2017 18:41

Philoslothical - I would send it but postage would be astronomical. Might use it as a doorstop! Blue hair is cool!!

Katy - you're quite welcome! If I could make lots of money I'd happily go into professional hat design but not sure how many people want to walk round with heavy lumps of paper mache excrement on their heads 😂. Perhaps there is a market for it!

My God, it looks like Cthulu is going to creep out of it any minute....OP, you are brilliant.

SherbrookeFosterer · 24/03/2017 18:51

I hope his teacher has a robust sense of humour!

It is definitely the work of a genius though!

masterchef98 · 24/03/2017 18:59

I think finished product is great. What are you going to do with it now though? Candle holder, Christmas centrepiece?

Darkstarrheart · 24/03/2017 19:00

OMG I'm crying here - Best thread ever !!! Grin

Pollypudding · 24/03/2017 19:24

Crying with laughter! Think you should keep going OP- make a huge diorama- throw in a couple of dinosaurs- keep it in your downstairs loo- sorted Grin

ChrisYoungFuckingRocks · 24/03/2017 19:30

Well, it looks a bit less like a diseased cock, and more like an injured Christmas pudding surrounded by brussels sprouts lol. At least it doesn't have lice Wink.

Isitjustmeorisiteveryoneelse · 24/03/2017 20:14

Wow, I'm not sure what look you've gone for, but, if it's Freddy Krueger beheading a Leprechaun in Nightmare on St. Patrick's Day, I think you've nailed it.

UmmeTalha · 24/03/2017 20:27

Showed the pic to my 10 yr old DS and he said "Volcano!"

Katie0705 · 24/03/2017 20:42

Taffetta...I am sure you could make it big in the design world😂😂

I really do admire your talents and creativity, as I certainly could have not done this.

MyCatIsABiggerBastardThanYours · 24/03/2017 20:52

Aahhh... This has made me laugh like Mutley dog.

Worry with."good morning shit Head" has fair made my day!GrinGrin

SunnyLikeThursday · 24/03/2017 20:54

Funniest thread. Thanks OP.

SouthWestmom · 24/03/2017 21:50

I just asked the two primary kids here and they both agreed it was a volcano.

'Oh, as a hat, that's quite cool'

You have been vindicated by the youngsters - saw a pp had done the same

Housequeen101 · 24/03/2017 23:23

I thought it looked like the sorting hat from Harry Potter Grin
