You could survive the fall into the river, but its the strength of current that's really dangerous, its so much faster than most imagine.

The woman who jumped in the river is alive. Just seen that on twitter.

Soubriquet · 22/03/2017 16:46

Oh brilliant news

One confirmed in the river. Counter terrorism involved and the way the met guy spoke more than one police officer injured.

Report
olderthanyouthink · 22/03/2017 16:46

I didn't know it was a common place for people to jump from Sad

There are lots of boats there usually but if they hit the low tide then that would be awful.

How did mi5 not see this coming?

fucking Sky News keep showing pics of injured people

BBC all the way on a big news story like this - they are professional and authoritative. Sky is gutter press and low-brow.

Still very unclear picture, hope everyone stays safe, gets home safely. I'm sure that the Police will be keeping everyone updated. Very good press conference bloke from the Met - "I am not going to speculate". So I won't either.

They usually do chai that area of London is very very secure and well policed.

Mumoftmtocount · 22/03/2017 16:48

Just watching the news on the beeb.
Anyone else feeling uncomfortable with people sending in pics of people who have been seriously injured being moved into ambulances or being attended to by paramedics etc? Just find it pretty bad taste to see that happening, take a photo and send it into the news..

How do you get that level of coldness and dead inside to mow down random innocent pedestrians including children.

It's beyond belief.

Report
PortiaCastis · 22/03/2017 16:49

Yes the Met officer said he won't speculate so nor will I

ShamefulDodger · 22/03/2017 16:49

God yes it's the anniversary of the Brussels attacks

I watched a piece on that this morning that said how Brussels were moving on.

I'd forgotten that by this afternoon Sad

Report
PlayOnWurtz · 22/03/2017 16:49

I think they see themselves as reporters. Sad thing is they don't realise they will very very likely develop ptsd as a result of their enthusiasm to get photos.

Report
PlayOnWurtz · 22/03/2017 16:51

My Facebook is saying the car is linked to an Essex address

Report
Soubriquet · 22/03/2017 16:51

The fact it's the anniversary of Brussels makes me believe it was a terrorist attack. Too much of a coincidence not to be

Report
RufusTheRenegadeReindeer · 22/03/2017 16:52

Oh yes shameful

I saw a two second clip this morning

I heard that some very young children were on a trip to the HoP. The lady said they were very calm as the teachers kept them so. The parents must be terrified. Thank you to everyone looking after others loved ones today.
