People no truly religious or decent person of no faith does things like this.

Psychopaths always blame something that 'made them do it.'

Let's stand together as human beings.

Doyouwantabrew · 22/03/2017 20:31

As a nurse we were told never to speak to the press.

PortiaCastis · 22/03/2017 20:32

I think the police officers family will be outraged at that so called doctor

MistyMeena · 22/03/2017 20:37

So sad for all involved. Just watching BBC coverage and 2 MPs have now mentioned the fatal stabbing of a policewoman and the journalist hasn't corrected them. How odd Sad

Fontella · 22/03/2017 20:40

Are you talking about that Junior Doctor who was just on.

I watched it with my mouth open in disbelief.

Worst person I've seen interviewed so far - completely unguarded, no sense of how she was coming across, and far less restraint and decorum that ordinary people, eye witnesses caught up in it, who were interviewed at random and still managed to show more respect and restraint that she did.

FlappinSwazy · 22/03/2017 20:40

Apart from the stabbing (which may have been a police woman, i don't think anyone has confirmed their gender), there were three further police officers injured as they walked back from a ceremony over Westminster Bridge.

FlappinSwazy · 22/03/2017 20:41

Fontella interview i saw was done in daylight outside hospital.

Believeitornot · 22/03/2017 20:41

Go easy on the junior doctor. Please.

FlappinSwazy · 22/03/2017 20:43

No, it was confirmed by the acting deputy commissioner that it was a man, my mistake.

FlappinSwazy · 22/03/2017 20:44

Believeitornot Why? I simply asked what others thought of it, I am sure what she has just seen is harrowing, but she has just released (and did earlier also as she confirmed a death before anyone else had) a lot of information that may have been best kept from the public until an official statement was made.

Believeitornot · 22/03/2017 20:47

Do you think she did it deliberately? Do you think it's easy to be shoved in front of a camera? That's why I say go easy. I haven't seen the interview but am wondering why on earth was she interviewed and why didn't someone give her advice!

ButterflyFree · 22/03/2017 20:47

@Believeitornot Why? Doctors and medical professionals are required to maintain patient confidentiality, and she has brazenly flaunted that requirement on national news. Whether an inexperienced Junior Doctor or a Senior Consultant, it doesn't excuse breaking confidentiality on such a sensitive topic, unless authorised by the hospital. Anyone with any discretion and decency would know that.

Perhaps she is in shock/running on adrenaline due to the extreme circumstances of the day, but in her line of work she needs to be able to maintain composure and professionalism under immense pressure. If she released these details so carelessly and without any authorisation she should be pulled up on it.

ButterflyFree · 22/03/2017 20:50

The media are (mainly) vultures with little regard for decency and all eyes on a scoop, so no doubt they were lurking around the hospital looking to pounce on anyone who would share some info. But I doubt they just shoved a camera in her face. They must have asked her to speak on camera and she agreed. That was wrong. She should have just said no, sorry, I'm not permitted to comment on patients' conditions.

FlappinSwazy · 22/03/2017 20:53

Believeitornot She's done three separate interviews, I've seen no other doctors from Tommy's interviewed, despite the fact many rushed out from the Doctors office (including SHOs and consultants). There were junior doctors in parliament and they provided medical aid to the stabbed police officer, I did not see a statement from them before official statements were released.

Even in her daylight interview there was confusion about the police officer with a head injury and whether he was dead or alive due to what she had said.

Bestthingever · 22/03/2017 20:54

Reporters are bastards but she really should have had more sense than to agree to an interview.

Believeitornot · 22/03/2017 20:54

In her line of work she wouldn't usually be dealing with the aftermath of a terrorist attack in front of cameras. And as a junior doctor she isn't finished in her training yet?

She is human and made a mistake. A big mistake but a mistake nonetheless.

FlappinSwazy · 22/03/2017 20:58

Believe Yes, which is what I asked - were others comfortable with it or did they feel uneasy about it? I was less so when I realised she'd done it three times over.

No one should be dealing with the aftermath of a terrorist attack, but maintaining details on the conditions of patients is not just a situation you are in in the aftermath of a terrorist attack. Let alone being the first to announce publicly that there was a fatality.

Wando1986 · 22/03/2017 21:00

Any more info on the three officers injured on the bridge? :(

PortiaCastis · 22/03/2017 21:01

Were ,the deceaseds family informed before the Dr went on tv ?

FlappinSwazy · 22/03/2017 21:02

Wando One is being treated in a major trauma centre with serious head injury (will not name hospital) as per protocol in London.

FlappinSwazy · 22/03/2017 21:03

Portia Not unless they were notified within half an hour / 45 minutes of the car going onto the pavement. And there were actually two fatalities almost immediately. One of which was photographed and broadcast all over the news.

Willyoujustbequiet · 22/03/2017 21:04

I don't think it helps in any way to down play the religious element in these situations. If indeed it was Islamic extremists in this case. That's just denial and if anything causes greater problems.

FlappinSwazy · 22/03/2017 21:04

Ah hang on, she gave comments early about the fatality - not sure what time she went on TV.

PortiaCastis · 22/03/2017 21:05

Jeez people have no respect

Bestthingever · 22/03/2017 21:07

Surely even a junior doctor knows about patient confidentiality?
