WAS IT COMPLETELY NECESSARY TO USE CAPS AS MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

shakeyospeare · 15/03/2017 00:20

SO DID YOU FIND MOULD IN YOURS?????!!!!!!

BlueFolly · 15/03/2017 00:33

God I thought you were going to say one had EXPLODED IN YOUR FACE!!! Or something. Mould in kitchen equipment not so dramatic in this house Grin

PopTheDragon · 15/03/2017 00:40

Calm your pants. No need to shout although I agree about warning people. Yes it's disgusting and awful but I think it's mostly down to not cleaning it properly. Mine is fine along with 6 other's that I know have been checked in the last 24 hours.

zsazsa468 · 15/03/2017 00:47

Is it just me, that thinks it very obvious that you would need to regular check and clean the pipes?

I don't get what the shouting is all about Confused

paxillin · 15/03/2017 00:52

There is a prep machine to measure out a scoop of milk powder and a bottle of water? What will they think of next, a nappy changing machine measuring out 1 nappy and 4 wipes GrinGrin?

kel1493 · 15/03/2017 01:08

Paxillin- my thoughts exactly. We make bottles by hand. No need for any machine IMO

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 15/03/2017 01:09

You should check and clean them regularly.

IS THAT OK OP?

JonesyAndTheSalad · 15/03/2017 01:16

Pax I think it's more to do with the temperature. You know how the Health Visitors insist on bottles being an EXACT temp these days.

novemberontrumpwatch · 15/03/2017 01:37

I UNDERSTOOD ONE WAS SUPPOSED TO CLEAN IT WITH V. HOT WATER EVERY WEEK.

Paninotogo · 15/03/2017 01:56

I thought these machines hadn't been independently tested/approved? Didn't the FSA state that the water was not hot enough to kill bacteria in formula and that the rest of the water was only filtered? People who use these are not following guidelines correctly anyway, so why the TYPED OUTRAGE OVER INEVITABLE MOULD?

31weeksgone · 15/03/2017 02:21

I checked mine earlier, used daily for 16 months and no mould in sight.

londonrach · 15/03/2017 02:44

Checked both mine yeaterday, one second hand ...no sign of any mould. From what i remember lady who used this machine has admitted to using one of the water jug filters instead of the correct filters. Machine needs regularly cleaning. If youve seen this on fb there are 100s of people commenting saying their machine is ok. Think this is user mistake. However always worth checking and i did another cleaning cycle as a result anyway.

LoriD · 15/03/2017 07:02

That's the problem though so many people put pictures up online saying oh my machines fine but you need to take the pipes off and look inside them and there was thin layers of mould

DoItTooJulia · 15/03/2017 07:08

I think the op is trying to be helpful.

JellyWitch · 15/03/2017 07:23

What's with all the shouting?

This isn't news - they've been having mould issues for at least 2 years that I know of (there was one in my birth group).

JonesyAndTheSalad · 15/03/2017 07:39

What' with all the people repeatedly asking what's with all the shouting?

Hmm

People love to jump on a poster and repeat the same mean crap as previous posters.

Sparklingbrook · 15/03/2017 07:44

The OP was trying to alert people to a possible problem. Why is everyone getting arsey? Confused

15 years too late for me but I quite like the sound of the machine.

minifingerz · 15/03/2017 08:02

Have a look at the company's FB page - shocking number of units have mouldy growing in them. Not always obvious when you look at the piping from the outside, but can be seen when you push a cotton bud down inside them.

The food standards agency and First Steps Nutrition had already raised concerns about the safety and testing protocols for this product two years ago, but it seems that parents will overlook these concerns if a product has a good consumer rating and makes life with a baby a lot easier.

minifingerz · 15/03/2017 08:03

Mould not mouldy. Hmm

RachelRagged · 15/03/2017 09:18

The prices of them Shock

I have no idea why a good old fashioned boiling kettle is not good enough now . What a faff, and a waste of cash .

RachelRagged · 15/03/2017 09:22

Paxillin

It don't even dispense the powder . I googled it and watched a video . It only dispenses water at a "correct temperature" .

minifingerz · 15/03/2017 09:23

Rachel - I agree! Measure out half the liquid for the feed from a freshly boiled kettle and the other half from a bottle of cooled boiled water from the fridge. Add powder to hot liquid, shake, then add cooled boiled water. Job done.

paxillin · 15/03/2017 09:24

Grin I will invent that nappy machine to dispense 1 nappy and 4 wipes. At the correct temperature, naturally.

RachelRagged · 15/03/2017 09:25

I must say its not a case of "We didn't have these, not fair"

No my concern is that companies are making things like the above and making a lot of money from it all when, as you say Minifingerz, job done with a normal kettle and scoop and powder . Its like you are all being ripped off (though if you got the money to afford it I guess its fine).
