I was surprised to read that 90% of adults eat pizza at least once a week. AIBU

I was just going to say - pizza isn't as unhealthy as you think it is if you make it yourself. We have stuff like anchovies and pepperoni on ours but you can go low-calorie really easily.

Plus, we can make a huge pizza for each of us for about £3 with all the ingredients included.

Sniv · 13/03/2017 18:16

I didn't until I got into a relationship with someone who loves pizza. My pizza consumption has skyrocketed.

expatinscotland · 13/03/2017 18:20

Mmm, pizza, what's not to like?

Andrewofgg · 13/03/2017 18:21

Every household pizza meal is one less household curry meal, and that's a Very Bad Thing.

pixiebell79 · 13/03/2017 18:23

Eating this whilst my 3 year old devours the pizza I just made him, lol! Monday night is pizza night in our house, but we make it from scratch. I'm not the healthiest though - my topping of choice is brie, chorizo and caramelised onion chutney... Grin

MaryPoppinsPenguins · 13/03/2017 18:24

I'm shocked at how many people make it themselves! I must be the only fatty ordering a dominos once a week Grin

Thissideof40 · 13/03/2017 18:28

We have it once a week. Had it tonight actually.

hollieberrie · 13/03/2017 18:29

incompetentmayorgoodway · 13/03/2017 18:29

No extra points for Pizza Express is the middle-class McDonalds or any mention of new products suitable for Coeliacs or vegans (health and ethics both perfectly valid reasons on which to base food choices).

squizita · 13/03/2017 18:42

Why would anyone be surprised - it covers all bases.
It can be sophisticated and authentic or trashy and cheesy (covering most people's whims ... and many loving both on different days).
It can be veggie or meaty or gluten free.
It can be home made or shop bought or eaten out.
By and large kids like it.
It is very quick to prepare.

No wonder almost everyone eats it.

squizita · 13/03/2017 18:45

Also it's once a week, and anyone who thinks it's "not unreasonable" because they personally dislike bread or tomato or whatever is missing the point. We are talking about most people liking it once a week, not 100% all the time. We are not talking about whether YOU eat it personally.

It is therefore a reasonable estimate.

dailystuck71 · 13/03/2017 18:46

I can't remember the last time we had pizza.

booellesmum · 13/03/2017 18:48

Pizza night every Friday here.

squizita · 13/03/2017 18:49

Stripey Grin Brilliant.

Amazing how many people confuse health and ethics with snobbery.

BraveDancing · 13/03/2017 18:50

I do love pizza. Not once a week, but once every couple of months sounds tea reasonable. I rather fancy it now.

Angela0413 · 13/03/2017 18:50

Says who? I have pizza every few months (at most) - I do find that stat every odd

aquashiv · 13/03/2017 19:07

Yes cheap quick and easy. We have a nice porsh salad though.

squizita · 13/03/2017 19:07

Angela but of you read the thread, you'll find most people do. It's about larger scale trends and has nothing to do with one person's preferences.
It's like someone left handed refuting that most are right handed, or someone who supports Harrow AFC refuting that Chelsea are more popular ... The numbers say otherwise.

Parker231 · 13/03/2017 19:08

We're having pizzza tonight - one from M&S and I'm adding mushrooms and peppers to turn it into my favorite pizza. Am putting the oven in about half an hours time - looking forward to pizza and a bottle of wine whilst we watch TV. Perfect for a Monday night!

lljkk · 13/03/2017 19:28

My kids would have pizza every night if I let them.
I don't think I'd really like any other your home-made pizzas, sorry!
Give me potatoes or veg instead, any day.

vdbfamily · 13/03/2017 19:28

most saturday nights here. Make the pizza dough in the bread maker and kids add their own toppings.

WellyMummy · 13/03/2017 19:28

My little one had pizza tonight. She'd have pizza every week by choice, but she doesn't get it that frequently. I'd never eat it again by choice as I find it overly rich which is unusual for me!
