And 5ft 9?
I've put on loads of weight and would feel comfy being a 16 but it's a long way off.
I'm guessing I've about 8 st to lose to be a 16. I'm disgusted with myself BlushSad

Two years ago I lost 6 stone
On a meal replacement plan (not sure I can name it here or not). I was fastidious about losing and how weights correlated to sizes and still have my workings here for interest:

5'6
Start weight - 17stone 10 - size 22
16 stone 7 - size 20
15 stone 4 - size 18
14 stone - size 16
12 stone 10 - size 14

Lowest weight I got to was 12 stone 2 and I was in a River Island 14 jeans and a Dorothy Perkins 12 blouse.

I am a pear shape - 38a bra - I have to buy this size online!!

I lost the weight in six months, maintained it for 16 months (maintenance is a euphemism for being ridiculous, but I don't want to trigger anyone). I could not maintain properly... then my gall bladder decided enough was enough...
My point is this - I'm now back at 15 stone 10 (and am currently wearing an 18 Primark 'linen' trousers Hmm ) - which incidentally are so thin they are see through - but that could be another thread! I started January 1st at 17 stone 7 so almost lost two stone so far...

I've named the brands in some cases because I was bloody obsessed and documented everything some makes have more give than others. I.e RI jeans are quite small / Dotty P a bit more 'give'...

I am sure you won't, but Please don't do yourself a disservice by not taking care of yourself whilst you lose weight, or look for a quick fix like I did. I say that drawing from my own experience, it all too quickly became an obsession for me. No offence or harm meant at all. Just kindness. This time around, I'm doing it the old fashioned way, kcals down, movement up! Good luck!

WipsGlitter · 13/03/2017 18:05

I'm 5ft 5 and weigh 13.4 stone. I'm a 16 but got 18 jeans recently but they are possibly a bit big but the 16 would not have fitted.

I want to lose weight but I have no will power. I'm also on medication which I think has caused some weight gain.

DarylDixonsJockstrap · 13/03/2017 18:18

I'm 5ft 3 and currently weigh 13st 10lb and am a size 16...I've recently lost 2 and a half stone with Slimming World but still have a long way to go considering I'm so short. My ideal weight is something like 10st...maybe even less than that. But...

I can't recommend SW enough if you're looking at joining a club. I totally get that it's not for everyone but for me personally having structure and a support group every week has helped me no end! Good luck Smile

Flisstizzy · 13/03/2017 18:31

Join Slimming World!
4 months ago I was Size 22/24 through years of taking steroids & over eating. I'm still taking steroids but I've lost nearly 2 stone, I'm 5ft 9.
It's slow & steady for me at about 1-1.5lb loss per week, so I'm in it for the long haul, but it's so worth it.

AltogetherAndrews · 13/03/2017 19:00

The frame size thing isn't so straight forward though. I have thin arms and legs, long fingers so theoretically small frame but have huge sticky out hip bones and a wide rib cage, at 5'5 and 12st, I'm a 14, but that's cos all my weight goes on my already large torso. At 13 and a half stone I was a size 20. With skinny arms and legs. It's an odd look, and a nightmare to find clothes for!

Somuchweighttolose · 13/03/2017 19:48

I'm going to re join for the 8th time :)

5ft8 and 15st10 at the moment. 18's too baggy but can't quite get into 16's, on Weight Watchers at the moment. Got about 4st to lose

SouthernNorthernGirl · 13/03/2017 20:05

Im only 5 ft 4 and a size 16. I weigh 10 stone
Is that right? Confused

I'm 5 ft 3 and a size 16 so I thought I weigh just over 13stone

BG2015 · 13/03/2017 20:13

I'm 5' 8", weigh 12st 7lb and a size 14/16 depending on where the clothes are from. I'd like to be 12st ideally as then my size 14's are comfortable.

But i'm struggling to lose this half a stone!

SouthernNorthernGirl · 13/03/2017 20:15

Oh - reading some of these, maybe I'm a bigger size than I think I am Blush

SellFridges · 13/03/2017 20:21

I'm 5' 6" and weigh just over 13 stone. I'm edging into a 16 at the moment but only just, and definitely not in places like Next.

5ft 10 ,16and half stone ,size 16/18 although I have just bought a pair of Levi jeans in a 15 and they fit!! Was 22st 3.5lb at the end of August 2016 joined sw and haven't looked back .I'd like to get to 12stone if possible .Do lots of exercise as well

littlepeas · 13/03/2017 20:43

I am 5ft 6in and a size 14/16 - heading more towards the 16 at the moment at 12st 10lbs. I have a small frame and carry weight very badly, as well as all over (rather than one or two troubling areas). I have huge boobs that I hate and which cause me quite a bit of physical discomfort. Basically, I look really overweight, though I'm sure others at my height and weight would look significantly better than I do! My knees are really struggling too. I shouldn't really be any more than 10 stone (where I would be a 10/12). It's amazing how much it varies from person to person.

73kittycat73 · 13/03/2017 20:58

See, I never get people saying I'm 'X' weight and a size 16/18. I'm 5' 6 1/2" and 13 stone 12. I am a size 24 on top and 22 on the bottom. I'm no where near a size 16/18 so how do other people with similar stats do it?! Confused

LapdanceShoeshine · 13/03/2017 21:07

Well it does depend on how fit you are. I'm relatively light for my height but I am very unfit & very flabby & much bigger than others on here of similar weight/height

ChanandlerBongsNeighbour · 13/03/2017 21:31

I'm 5ft 8.5in and at the beginning of Jan weighed 16st 2lb and was size 18/20. I joined SW and have so far lost 1st 2lb and am now a comfortable size 16. Only 3 more stone to go to target! You can do it OP!

NuclearSwan · 13/03/2017 21:33

I'm size 18, 5 foot 2 and weigh 14ish stone.

SierraJensen · 14/03/2017 11:21

I'm a 16 but 'only' 11 stone 3. I just have a huge stomach I think Confused

SierraJensen · 14/03/2017 11:26

Should also add, I'm 5 foot 6

BoredOnMatLeave · 14/03/2017 12:11

5'8" size 16/18 and weigh 16 stone. When I was a 10/12 I weighed about 13

Somuchweighttolose · 15/03/2017 15:10

Going to try and do 2lb a week just don't know where to start Sad I'm the worlds fussiest eater too

Depends on the shop. When I was a true 16 (measurements) I weighed 13 st and am 5 ft 7. I'm now a 12/14 and weigh 12 st.

Klaphat · 15/03/2017 16:23

My Fitness Pal, OP. And protein and lots of veg. Try to avoid potatoes, bread, pasta, rice where possible. And be prepared for slip-ups - they will happen many times. Just press on and try to make better choices.

BarbaraofSeville · 15/03/2017 16:53

Some people will change shops to maintain that they are a particular size. So if they can't fit into a 12 in Top Shop, instead of buying a 14 in Top Shop, they will go to Dorothy Perkins or Next, where they will then be a 10/12.

I always laugh when I read online reviews about whether something is 'true to size' because most of these will be 'If I think I am a 12 even though I am really a 14 and the 12 fits I will say it is true to size but if the 12 is too small I will say that the sizing is small in this shop before I will admit that I am really a 14'.
