So after the thoroughly depressing and anger inducing read that is the thread of rudest things said to you, can we start one with the nicest thing someone has ever said to you? Just to restore my faith in humanity a little!

Please and thank you Smile

Lovely thread Smile

I'm a teacher and occasionally when I ask the kids to pack up at the end of class one of them will look surprised and say 'already?' or something similar. Makes me feel like I've done a sterling job.

A friend at work said to me 'I love the kind of parent you are.'

I loved that. Smile

I realise my post seems really boastful Blush I'm not hot at all, we were the weird kids and hotness was not something we aspired to or experienced! And we had all grown up together.

Lovely stories! I was having a tough period at work while pregnant with no 2and feeling like I wasn't giving my best anywhere.

Came in to clinic to find a card addressed to me from a patient. Said I was 'a cracking doctor' and had really helped her through her treatment. Still makes me smile whenever I think of it - I don't think she knew how much that meant to me at that point.

I'm an agency worker. I've just found out that my contact isn't being extended so I will be leaving soon. Some of the permanent staff cried when I told them. I'm glad that they don't want me to leave.

Somehow more powerful when it's a comment from a random. My parents always saying lovely things but a former flat mates mother who was extremely grand was very dismissive of a chap I had just had a dire first date with -"very average you're something special he is not special at all"

On a second date with a lovely guy. We were kissing, and when we stopped he looked at me shyly and said 'You're so beautiful, I can't believe I'm kissing you'. 🤗 I blushed for a week.
