I've been thinking about the Watergate Scandal and exactly this. Multiple members of Nixon's staff as well as the five 'burglars' went to prison and/or resigned in disgrace. Nixon fired others in an attempt to distance himself from the scandal. Most of them never regained their public reputations. Trump's staff would do well to remember the words of Gen Santayana "Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it".

I also love how he attempts to influence the dialogue with the tweet posted to both his personal and the POTUS account. "There is an incredible spirit of optimism sweeping the country right now—we're bringing back the JOBS!"

Now, I don't live in the US, but I'd bet my granny's suspenders there isn't an "incredible wave of optimism". It would seem more like deep rivers of disillusionment and dissent. But that's just me. I'm not bringing back the JOBS, I guess.

Fucking bullshit! My cousin, who is covered under the ACA and receives a reduced premium that makes her insurance affordable, would see her insurance premiums double due to the removal of the premium subsidy.

She'd be eligible for a $4000.00 'tax credit', which means it's not 'cash in hand' to help you pay your premiums, it's a credit claimed when you file your taxes to reduce your income tax bill. That's not going to help her one damn bit to pay those premiums every month! DH and I, who can afford our health insurance premiums, would also get the same credit. That's just not right!

They also propose to stop funding for Planned Parenthood. They not only provide abortion services, but are a major, MAJOR source of contraception for low income women (as well as mammograms and pap smears).

This is just outrageous!

Oh but there's more. Apparently they are also putting in something that stops the requirement of large employers to provide health insurance to employees. So no more insurance mandate for employers. Imagine how many people will lose coverage now!!

Well, after the past few days' flurry of action, I wonder what will happen on this, the 45th day of POTUS 45's Presidency?
Overnight (for me), there has been more outrageous stuff. The repeal of the ACA is a shocker - I've actually been reading there is nothing at all to replace it, though, which surely should give pause for thought to those who still support #45? Oops, sorry, Ginger just seen your post about large employers. WTAF?
Am I late to the party with this about Priebus? Knives are out for Reince
Dan Rather seems to be reaching the end of his tether, too..

How's your son doing at the moment? I just keep wondering when Trump's White House will reach rock bottom and when it does, who or what will sort it all out? Or will it carry on free-falling into more disaster?

On a lighter note, I live in one of the countries you would think would be on the banned list were it not for #45's business interests. Imagine my delight when I was getting lost in driving round a local mall car park the other day, surrounded by these ads. I was in a bad enough mood having to be at the mall at all, but this was just the signature on the Executive Order..
