If only from a "don't alienate your core voters" perspective.

And after today they're gonna need all the voters they can get.

The one silver lining is this may well mean if a GE is triggered by all the brexit zeal, this happening now too surely makes it really bloody unlikely they'll win?!

Because of the fact that the younger half of the couple will have to claim UC this means that the mixed age pensioner couple will now have to pay bedroom tax.

Yes all kinds of ramifications! The cost of which means this actually affects everyone. So anyone reading this thinking "well it doesn't apply to me why should I care,"

The answer is because it will lead to additional costs/strain on the nhs and social care - that affects everyone.
