To be heartbroken at yet ANOTHER fave product being discontinued?

I have just discovered Thorntons have discontinued their strawberry fondant chocolate pigs, and I am quite frankly devastated. These have been my fave little treat since I was about 12, and now they are no more!

It's the latest in a long line of favourite products being discontinued - does anyone else get unreasonably irritated by this?! I'll start a list, feel free to add to it...

  • Thorntons strawberry fondant pigs (sob)
  • Benefit 'So Hooked on Carmella' perfume
  • Lush Aqua Mirabilis (my thighs will never be the same again)

Body Shop Blue Cornflower face scrub. Bastards. I've been using to for 25 years & they've just discontinued it now. Sad

Anyone remember Dimensions shampoo from the late 80's. Blue bottle I think. It really brought my curls out.

Schwartz lemon pepper 😭

JMJ1 · 09/08/2017 07:29

Dream eggs. I'd buy them by the display box.

ShakeShakeTheMuffin · 09/08/2017 07:38

Bendicks Bitter Oranges. The Bitter Mints are lovely too but not as good. They discontinued the bitter gingers as well but I didn't care about those.

Champagne flavour limited edition Crunchie..I think that was for the millennium so long gone Sad

It wasnt the most expensive perfume in the world but I was devastated when The Body Shop discontinued Oceanus perfume, the most gorgeous scent I had ever had. It was very popular so no idea why either. I got it off Ebay a few years ago for silly money for a special holiday but I'm acutely aware it's about 20 years since it was last produced so chances are will be off!

Just remembered tangy twiglets. They were amazing, I used to eat whole tubs at once Blush

McVities Royal Scot biscuits, they haven't made them for years but they were the best!

Also, way back from the seventies Goya's Aquamanda range, in bright orange and brown bottles, very trendy at the time and smelt divine.
But even better was the Meadowsweet range, just remembered that, really pretty sky blue packaging with meadow flowers and embossed white bottles.

Lavender Nutrogena Toilet Cleaner. 99p shop used to stock it before they disappeared.

One of the few toilet cleaners with a non chemical fragrance with the advantage it gets rid of smells. Perfect for a downstairs loo with no window.

Fry's Five Centres chocolate-haven't had one since I was about 6 and they were the best chocolate ever!

scrabbler3 · 09/08/2017 09:13

Reading through these, I think that the Body Shop could improve their profits by bringing back some of their originsl products, even for a short period.

anotherprosecco · 09/08/2017 09:23

Coffee flavour custard creams - my son mourns them as well.

Skarossinkplunger · 09/08/2017 09:28

Many. Many times. Usually with make-up, the resulting near-breakdowns at the Ester Lauder counter are not pretty.

Skarossinkplunger · 09/08/2017 09:30

The Benefit 'Lemonaid' incident was particularly spectacular.

SnickersWasAHorse · 09/08/2017 09:37

If the Body Shop would bring back Fuzzy Peach I would be all over it. It does funny things to DH as well. I think it reminds him of being a student.

Mymouthgetsmeintrouble · 09/08/2017 09:40

Cadbury bar six and salon selectives shampoo and conditioner

SnickersWasAHorse · 09/08/2017 09:44

Ovaltine chocolate bars. Delicious.

I loved them. I only just remember them but I would buy them all if they brought them back.

GladAllOver · 09/08/2017 09:45

Cadbury chocolate, before the US owners started using weird cheaper fats.

OohAahBird · 09/08/2017 09:56

For anyone who is excited about Trio having been brought back, don't buy them, they have completely changed the recipe and they taste foul, was so excited and bought 2 packets, no one would eat more than 1

DisorderedAllsorts · 09/08/2017 09:58

SnickersWasAHorse try the Jamaican section in the world food aisles for Ovaltine chocolate bars. I've bought Horlicks biscuits from the global food section before. So it's worth a try.

MyLittlePickleBoo · 09/08/2017 10:16

I haven't tried the new Trio. I used to love them!

Heinz winter vegetable soup was lovely but can't get it anywhere now. Sad
