To be heartbroken at yet ANOTHER fave product being discontinued?

InMemoryOfSleep · 05/03/2017 09:14

I have just discovered Thorntons have discontinued their strawberry fondant chocolate pigs, and I am quite frankly devastated. These have been my fave little treat since I was about 12, and now they are no more!

It's the latest in a long line of favourite products being discontinued - does anyone else get unreasonably irritated by this?! I'll start a list, feel free to add to it...

  • Thorntons strawberry fondant pigs (sob)
  • Benefit 'So Hooked on Carmella' perfume
  • Lush Aqua Mirabilis (my thighs will never be the same again)

Cadbury milk tray have ditched the Turkish delight - gutted.....
They sometimes make a come back. Galaxy counters were out in the seventies in a little white packet with a giraffe on and then vanished for years ....

I used to get the vegetable kakiage bento dish with rice from Wasabi nearly everyday and then they inexplicably stopped doing it. Am still annoyed :(

PageStillNotFound404 · 06/03/2017 19:50

Oh and Aqua Libra - the herbal lightly carbonated drink from the 1980s. That was my weekly treat when we did the food shopping every Saturday.

Elizabeth Arden 'Skipper Blue' khol pencil. Put on gently on the upper and lower waterline, you didn't notice the colour at all, it just made your eyes look incredibly bright and sparkly...sob

Fleur de fleur by nina Ricci beautiful floral fragrance. Kept my last empty bottle but the smell is fading .

lilacmamacat · 06/03/2017 20:00

The original Envy.
Lord Toffinghams.
Fresca. Was substituting with San Pelligrino grapefruit, but can't find it now I've moved back to the UK.
Moose bars.
Those orange lollies with sherbet-y ice-cream inside - can't remember what they were called, but circa 1972.

I'm loving this thread! I miss salt and vinegar quavers and I remember banana bubbles cereal. I looked for it when I was pg and craved banana things so much. I liked tootie minties as well.

Do you remember the little transfer packs you used to get called pressers? They came with a plastic stick so you could rub across then to transfer them to paper. You could get different types, Disney ones etc.

Poppyscot87 · 06/03/2017 20:13

I was explaining the Heinz pizza to my husband... Don't think he believes me. It sounds disgusting really but it tasted amazing!

CoolCarrie · 06/03/2017 20:14

There were drinks sold in a sort of tube, and you stuck a straw in the hole that opened by lifting a plastic tab near the top, lemonade flavour or cola, can anyone remember the name?

rockcake · 06/03/2017 20:18

I remember those transfers.....

Still miss Ski strawberry yoghurt in the original pots that were shaped like little milk churns....
