To be heartbroken at yet ANOTHER fave product being discontinued?

I have just discovered Thorntons have discontinued their strawberry fondant chocolate pigs, and I am quite frankly devastated. These have been my fave little treat since I was about 12, and now they are no more!

It's the latest in a long line of favourite products being discontinued - does anyone else get unreasonably irritated by this?! I'll start a list, feel free to add to it...

  • Thorntons strawberry fondant pigs (sob)
  • Benefit 'So Hooked on Carmella' perfume
  • Lush Aqua Mirabilis (my thighs will never be the same again)

Lush Flying Fox shower gel and Clinique Gentle Light face powder. Miss both of those!

Crispbutty you can still get Toast Toppers, or at least you could until fairly recently. Poundland does them.

Like previous posters, I miss Bournvita and mushroom and wine pasta n sauce.

I got rather stroppy when they changed the formula of Clinique's Dramatically Different moisturiser, as I'd been using it for the best part of 20 years, but I now use something better and cheaper, so I'm over that.

It's the food that I really miss.

Reggae Reggae coconut rundown sauce. I have to make my own now and it's quite a faff.

Fuse bars. My favourite.

The old style Body Shop banana conditioner. They brought it back recently but it's not the same and smells artificial.

Bacon grills - reformed bacon and cheese in a breadcrumb coating which were the ultimate breakfast on a sandwich.

northerngirl yes!! Clinique gentle light foundation. Fabulous stuff. I was gutted when it went for a second time. WHY?!?!?!

Oh and m&s Deltas - a salty potato snack. Must have been discontinued in the early 90s but I still yearn for their salty fabulousness.

Avon's Natori perfume. It was the most beautiful scent...nothing has ever come close. Discontinued in 95 I think? Still see the occasional bottle/sample listed on eBay but can't imagine it would still smell like it did?

Ice cream bombs from the local freezer shop before it turned into an Iceland.

Uncle Ben's potato gratins. Especially the provencal one. I loved them and it's not the same if I try to make it myself.

Also Tesco used to do a pasta salad with ham and tomato in about 15 years ago, I used to have it for lunch most days. I miss that bad boy.

Something which has recently disappeared which I am feeling very sore about is Glorious Mumbai Madness soup. Best shop bought soup I've ever tasted and it would be so hard to re-create.

Also still miss New Covent Garden Tuscan bean soup, which went years ago.

I likes soup, I do.

@AndNoneForGretchenWieners you can still get bacon grills in Heron Foods - had some recently though and I think they are best confined to memory.

Someone upthread also mentioned the M&S tuna melts. Loved them. A couple of minutes under the grill and it was quite possibly the perfect sandwich. In fact, I'm going to have to try to recreate it for my tea.

Cadbury Marble Bars and Secret Bars. I also miss the Body Shop's Ice Cream Bath Bubbles and Cola Bath Bubbles - they remind me of childhood. Sad.
