The point of getting Intel is when the enemy doesn't realise you've got it, FGS.

AcrossthePond55 · 02/03/2017 21:41

Jared Kushner and General Flynn met with Russian envoy in December, White House says

So, I wonder if there's going to be a rush of 'admissions' like this in order to try and look like they have 'nothing to hide' rather than wait until, like with Sessions and Flynn, someone else digs up the truth and makes them look like the liars they are.

Could this be the beginning of 'give them enough rope.....'? I certainly hope so.

cozietoesie · 02/03/2017 21:41

Oh he's lost the intel agencies, Lweji. I'm sure they're still operating - but not to 45 any more.

Lweji · 02/03/2017 21:44

And the NYT don't mince their words in relation to Trump's theatricals at the address:

"Was that moment, with Owens’s widow in attendance, moving and sad? Absolutely. It was also one of the most cynical things Donald Trump has done as president.

The problem isn’t that Trump honored Carryn Owens at a moment of terrible grief, or that he spoke movingly of her husband’s death. All that was altogether appropriate. Rather, the problem is that he did this after trying to evade any responsibility for what happened, and after the White House cast any criticism of his handling of it as an insult to Ryan’s legacy. In this sense, the entire story raises serious doubts about Trump’s decision-making on matters of national security, and it may be a grim preview of what’s to come."

It's been common knowledge that Kushner owes tons of money to Russian business/banks due to real estate/business deals.

It will be interesting to find out what they have on Russia and Trump when they can finally get it out.

Was that the Maddow clip on links with banks and a certain Russian oligarch? I watched it earlier. My, my, very convenient purchases and jobs.

Sessions said 2-3 staff were in the meeting. That's 2-3 witnesses who need to be interviewed by authorities.

Oooh, superspeedy thread.

ami I know you must be very busy, but is there any chance of you posting your: And Still She Persisted artwork again?

I think it bears 're-printing'?

amispartacus · 02/03/2017 22:04

Searches in picture folder. It's just one that someone posted a few weeks ago (seems a lifetime) and I saved it.

WorshipTheGourd about others 'watching' and monitoring on the internet from the last thread - I don't think anyone is actively monitoring threads like these. Should they want to pursue your details however, they could, easily enough. I think it's worthwhile to remember that anything you do on the internet is not private, even if you believe it is.

The Universe has flipped.
Only 18 months ago situations, people, life in general appeared to be rubbing along nicely. There were problems but nothing like now. It was better to agree to disagree etc & sometimes to do the opposite wasn't worth the upheaval/chaos that would result. So it was short pain for long term gain.
Brexit, Trump, Bataclan, Berlin, Putin inconspicuously meddling (or maybe he was too inconspicuous), a nuclear arms race, Sweden bringing back military conscription & anything else you want to add just seemed unthinkable, was unthinkable. Anyone spouting doom & gloom saying that the world was going to be in a worse state would have been laughed at. I suppose just like in 1912/1913 the notion of a World War & then another one was ridiculous. When WW1 started even then it was thought it would be over by Christmas.

The following may seem flippant to the above but everything's gone mad e.g. in my friendship/acquaintance circle/people I vaguely know so many are getting divorced, losing their jobs, businesses closing, losing homes, getting serious illness/dying young/committing suicide or murdered/raped/attacked/mugged/beaten up/killed/addicted to drugs, alcohol, prescription drugs and not forgetting going to prison.

When is the universe going to flip back to the right way?

cozietoesie · 03/03/2017 00:46

I think it was pretty well always the other way, I'm afraid. People have become used, in the UK and some other countries, to living in a temporary 'bubble' of relative peace and tranquility. It was only ever temporary, it seems.
