Ginger, I think he sounded like he was trying very hard to 'dance around' the truth whilst not telling porkies that will come back to bite him in the ass. That combination can often sound rambling and incoherent as they veer towards the truth then realizing it would be a bad thing and zooming away. It's all about 'plausible deniability', and right now Trump and his entire administration is focussed on hiding their dealings with Russia and, failing that, to maintain that plausible deniability that just may keep them out of prison.

He's still probably busy berating Angry Spice for his fucked up tweet earlier. Then there's be a session of physical wrestling while he tries to get his phone back from a staffer. And THEN he'll tweet.
