Okay - while I am appalled at how that woman was treated, I do have to at least point out (as I don't see that she's mentioned it) - she left the UK and lost her right to remain because she moved out of country for a few years to be a full time carer for one of her parents. Then she moved back, but new laws had been in place by then saying one of them needed to be making £18K (roughly - I don't know the exact figure) to get her ILR again. They didn't, and she was using visitor's visas (6 months at a time)?? I'm baffled and this case would make MUCH more sense if they published the actual timeline. But she had to know that leaving the country for a few years would affect her residency. It IS awful and they treated her badly - you'd think they would simply say "look, pay a fine or get the paperwork through in 6 month and that's it"... but I'd be interested in knowing the timeline to see how long she knew this had to be sorted and what she was doing to sort it.
