AIBU?

Anyone else a little envious of celeb mums like Holly Willoughby?

I know I am being totally irrational and unreasonable but does anyone else think like this? Holly seems to have the ideal life. Great job, great working hours. Husband who earns well. Beautiful, healthy children. Can afford a great house, good child care, close to her sister, turns her hand to most things and makes good money from her ventures blah blah.. Same with Louise Redknapp, great lifestyle business she runs with a friend, beautiful husband , lovely home, supportive extended family. It's not like they are awesomely great at what they do.. I just feel a little envious that's all. Daft isn't it!

At here's always stuff on the internet about Jamie Rednapp being a womaniser. Louise has been trying to resurrect her career for years hasn't she, all a bit desperate. FiL Harry has had a few dodgy business/tax dealings; I imagine he's not as jovial as his image.

Just thinking about all the only there when the going's good fake friends I'd attract by being famous gives me the shudders!

My life outwardly is no less perfect than HW. I'm not famous but I have everything else and an even better looking husband. lol
To someone else my life seems like a dream and it is to an extent. I do work full time partly because it's the right time and partly because I feel I need to work. I grew up very poor and that never leaves you. I had family heartaches as I lost a sister after prolong domestic abuse. I do worry about my child as she was very sick when she was a baby and then I became an over protective mother. I support financially my parents and that comes with other struggles. they don't want me to but you can't allow 2 70 year olds to live with no heating however proud they are. I had an illness that it was a miracle I survived, that plays up on your mind because it can come back any minute. You never know what each person is hiding.

YANBU, life is a right slog sometimes.

Just remember though, you can go out looking like utter shit (although I'm sure you don't!) and nobody cares. You won't end up in Heat with a "hoop of horror". You can go anywhere you like in peace. If you have DC then you are there for them, every day. If you put on a few pounds, nobody will notice. Nobody makes unkind comments about you on the internet*.

In these respects, we are the richest people in the world. Have some Cake in the knowledge we won't be reading the headline "Secret binges on cakes" tomorrow!

*Unless you are a PFB GF but I'm sure you're not!

No, not jealous/envious of holly willoughby and the likes in the slightest.
Would be nice to be Bill Gates wife though.

She hasn't even got where she has through graft. Just shagged the right person who makes her the presenter of every bloody show he produces.

I am sick of the sight of her simpleton face tbh.

I'd be a permanent feature of the DM sidebar of shame. No thank you

I'm with grommits. I can barely fake a smile for seven hours at work some days - women like HW need to do it 24/7. I think it must be very hard.

I am insanely envious of all mums who can work part time or not at all.

Just the money and the pampering.
Not the outgoing, always on persona. I would crack after 2 minutes. Especially with some of the numb nut guests on This Morning.

Didn't her husband cheat on her a few years ago?

I wish I looked like her but I don't think I would like the rest of her life. My guess is she's exhausted and barely ever spends time in her lovely home and barely gets to spend any real quality time with her family.

God I hate HW. She tries to so hard to make out she's a perfect mum and she's so bloody smug.

I often wonder what it must be like to be married to a celeb. Being able to afford to be a sahm and have a very comfortable lifestyle with no money worries would be nice.

Nope, i would certainly not want to be louise Redknapp for anything. There lives are far,far from perfect.

I envy them having huge salaries and yet they never have to pay for anything because firms and designers and TV companies give them loads of free stuff.

Bastards.

I'm trying hard to imagine being envious of a vacuous z-list celeb like Holly Willoughby and it's just not happening.

I would absolutely HATE to be a celeb - however 'great' my life was otherwise. You can't go shopping without everyone staring and pointing, taking pictures without asking, constantly pestering you for selfies. You couldn't go on holiday with your family, sit by the pool in peace, wear a bikini without worrying that people were taking photos of you (and selling them), tipping off the paparazzi where are you, etc. You would have no privacy whatsoever. And god forbid something awful happens to you or your marriage - it would be splashed all over the tabloids. I'd rather have my privacy, thanks.

OP I'm interested in your definition of "good working hours".
I hope holly enjoys her work. I'm jealous of anyone who enjoys their work bit wonder if op has drastically underestimated her hours!

Me too limon. SAHP are the ones I envy.

Not in a million years!

I couldn't bear being famous. Lots of close family work in TV and I've learned enough from them to not envy telly folk one jot.

I wouldn't want to be famous but the only time I've ever really cared about being rich was when the kids (twins) were small. Imagine being able to pay for day and night help and not worry about the price.

No

I would hate it

Don't compare your insides to everyone else's outsides

Report
FriendlyPolecat · 28/02/2017 16:18

I wouldn't want their money or to be on tv and when I had a very good looking husband it cost me my friends and caused a few problems with women I was involved with professionally, so those celebs can keep it.
