AIBU?

Anyone else a little envious of celeb mums like Holly Willoughby?

I know I am being totally irrational and unreasonable but does anyone else think like this? Holly seems to have the ideal life. Great job, great working hours. Husband who earns well. Beautiful, healthy children. Can afford a great house, good child care, close to her sister, turns her hand to most things and makes good money from her ventures blah blah.. Same with Louise Redknapp, great lifestyle business she runs with a friend, beautiful husband , lovely home, supportive extended family. It's not like they are awesomely great at what they do.. I just feel a little envious that's all. Daft isn't it!

A lot of things are bulk taped though arent they? So that dating show she probably films 2-3 a day, taking up max one week. Four days (ok probs full days) TM then the odd afternoon for a photoshoot or mag interview. Play To The Whistle and Celeb Juice are seasonal.

The nanny hit the child?! Shock That's awful. Surely that would make them somewhat wary of all future nannies? Thing is, she needs one doesn't she, to be able to do the work she does, she has no choice.

She seems to have a squeaky clean image & a lovely life. Good luck to her, she seems genuinely nice as a person. I much prefer Ruth & Eamon on this morning though.

I'd hate to be a rich celebrity. I'd much rather be the wife of a Russian billionaire say and swan about with gazillions of staff and 53 properties and 6 boats and a private jet and.... I'd better stop before I start drooling.

I read this thread late last night and had a horrific nightmare about an evil man who tried to sexually blackmail me - you tell anyone and I'll release this picture etc. In my dream we weren't in a relationship but it did make me think about this thread and what power your partner would have over you if you were a celebrity and they had pictures or information about you. It's all very well and good wishing our celebrities were more "human" but another thing when your intimate private life is revealed without your consent. Scary thoughts.

Getting away from this the point, i don't think This Morning is the right programme for her. She always looks out of her depth, it's like she got the job for her looks. Hmm Can't stand Phil either.

I don't understand why you would think that they weren't normal people with normal problems? Having a job that means people recognise you in the street is not a magic shield against all the shit that happens in life is it? OK, so they might not have money problems to the same extent as us but it won't stop them getting ill for example.

Not jealous, no. Who wants to live in the limelight, be scrutinised and criticised constantly? And probably cheated on. Nope. Not me.

Gaaahhh, ooh what username do you think she posts under. ? If she is on MN, Hi Holly, would you like to covertly tell us how you really are like the rest of us mere mortals :-)
Wonder if her Nanny is on here too..

No I would hate the constant attention and judging from strangers

but I do often practise my Oscar/Pulitzer Prize/BAFTA/Grammy award speech where I receive the longest ever standing ovation for such original outstanding work and for being so utterly fabulous

I don't envy her. I do like her though.

I have read some things about her and her husbands relationship which made me feel a bit sad for her actually.

That celebs are actually normal people, that they go through normal everyday issues and are not a 'perfect human

But why should celebs publish their every day domestic issues? This is why fame sounds so shit to me, if you talk about personal stuff you're attention seeking, if you don't you're a bad role model… bah! nah, I'll leave the fame to them thanks!

I had to Google her, and her Wikipedia page lists what sounds like a fairly grim slog through stints of modelling pants, presenting routine children's TV shows, before moving on to the most vacuous-sounding adult TV - Celebrity Wrestling: Bring It On?

It's not my definition of 'enviable'.

See Tiddler, that's the news I want to read. That celebs are actually normal people, that they go through normal everyday issues and are not a 'perfect human'. I can understand why young impressionable girls can get depressed when all they see is a picture perfect lifestyle being portrayed. Same with us tired, over worked mummies!
Wonder if Holly is on mumsnet? Oops!

HW's husband: IMO would be good looking/attractive in normal real life contexts. He's just not preened and good at posing for cameras

Her previous nanny hit her child on the playground, and people saw it, so the nanny was sacked.

Husband is arrogant and not so nice to other people.

Holly is nice but not easiest to work with. Will not tell more, can't afford to be outed.

No, i am sure there are times she wished she didnt have to get up at the crack of dawn and look fabulous and just slob about at home with the kids when its the holidays or whatever - women work and dont get the perks she must also get, so its all swings and roundabouts i suppose.

I wouldn't hate to have her life, she's done well and has healthy kids and never has to worry about money.
She must hardly ever see her kids though and must have missed out on so many of their milestones/school plays/school trips/cuddling them all day when they're ill. Her life won't be all a bed of roses

Holly's husband isn't the handsome looking type of guy that celeb women tend to go for. I think your Aunt may be right, as I've wondered if she went for someone who is clever/funny/dependable but also knowing perhaps she wouldn't have to worry too much about women throwing themselves at him(like footballers wives often have to put up with).

I had to google Holly's husband and i didnt think he looked too bad to be honest- i dont know much about her and him and i dont buy the gossip mags.
Mind you, my dear Auntie used to have a theory ( and it was only her theory!) that anyone who is naturally pretty or attractive always go out with people that arnt - that way they can keep the spotlight on them! might be something in that - we are programmed to acknowledge beauty even if we say that we dont do this.

Yes Tiddler, do you know more than what's reported. ? Love to know. Always wondered if Jamie R would have been tempted away, he was a footballer after all and a good looking guy, so probably has women offering themselves to him regularly. I don't think I've read anything negative about him though.

Jamie redknapp has cheated on Louise before and still does. Don't believe what you read.

Tiddler Oooh, i'm intrigued. Can you elaborate?

Holly is beautiful & seems like a lovely person, I used to follow her husband on Twitter and he was hysterical. I can see what she sees in him. He appears to be successful & funny and I don't think he's unattractive.

I am "jealous" that she can afford a Nanny, she's also mentioned that her mum has helped out in the past. My mum works full time so can't help me out that much when my freelance work gets very demanding. I'd LOVE my mum to be able to help me more, until I can afford a nanny!

Downright nasty if you ask me.
