To think cellulite is for life

BottomlyP0tts · 27/02/2017 08:27

I'm late 20s about a size 6 when not pregnant.

Currently pregnant with baby number 3. I look down at my thighs and realise my 59 year old mother has better legs than me.

DP used to love my legs now he suggest I "try something else" every time I put on a skirt.

It's here for life right? Why am I so depressed about this.

I'm pear shaped. The only time I managed to completely get rid of my cellulite was when I had anorexia.
Now I don't really care, haven't given it much thought for years.

CommonSenseIsNotAllThatCommon · 27/02/2017 11:35

Your legs are fine. You don't need to be worrying about body brushing or diet or whatever.
People really have lost sight of what a woman's body is supposed to look like.

BottomlyP0tts · 27/02/2017 19:33

I haven't proper worked out in years - I used to be on a national sports team I am hoping that getting into again will help.

I agree his issues have really damaged my self esteem. I used to be so confident! But really only I can build it up again right? It's up to ME to feel good about MYSELF

I have horrendous cellulite on my arse and thighs. I've been incredibly fit in the past but it's never really been any better. I hate being in a swim suit despite loving swimming, it's a real confidence killer.

Kittencatkins123 · 27/02/2017 19:53

I have cellulite, it got better when I lost loads of weight due to heart break. But I can't be arsed to sustain that. Though I do work out and dry brush and I think that it's a bit better for that.

But my boyfriend ACTUALLY THINKS I HAVE NO CELLULITE. He said this to me and I thought he was joking then realised he was being serious AND I MUST QUICKLY MARRY HIM!

Your DP needs to back off. I bet you look fab in skirts!

Astoria7974 · 27/02/2017 22:02

Not being offensive but are you skinny fat? Ie untoned/wobbly everywhere else too? That might explain your legs. If that's the case then there are weight training programmes that can reverse it with a bit of cardio. You also need to eat a bit more protein.

LoupGarou · 27/02/2017 22:44

I got some pretty bad cellulite when I was pregnant with DS, I was on bed rest and in hospital for the vast majority of my pregnancy. It disappeared completely not long after I restarted my daily treadmill running a while after DS was born. I didn't do it for that reason, I have far too many scars to worry about what I look like, I just like to keep fit Smile.

Your legs are fine and I bet you look great in a skirt, your DP on the other hand Hmm. Cp

BottomlyP0tts · 28/02/2017 02:23

Tiptoethr0ughthetulips it is a confidence killer - I love swimming and that along with terrible acne scars on my back have pretty much ruined my experiences at the beach. Ugh.

Astoria7974 I think my calves and arms are fairly ok - but that is just naturally slender not toned at all. So yes skinny fat lol

I recently discovered 'fascia blasting', apparently it's fascia, not fat which causes cellulite:
www.fasciablaster.com/
Ashley is all over facebook promoting this technique. I got sucked into buying this, but have yet to stick with it to see it if it works or not..

JungleInTheRumble · 28/02/2017 08:42

I'm the same as you - very slim but if I tense my muscles I have quite visible cellulite.

I don't care enough about it to bother with body brushing (whatever that is?) Etc. If it bothers you though there are th

I think it's partly genetics, partly diet/exercise.

I've had it since I was in my teens and a skinny 6/8, but it's always improved when I've exercised regularly and eaten a healthy diet. I've never managed to get rid of completely, though!

allegretto · 28/02/2017 08:59

I am slightly underweight for my height but I have loads of cellulite and my thighs rub together - practically all the weight I put on goes on my thighs! Following this thread with interest as I would like to lessen it a bit.

Pacha11 · 28/02/2017 16:48

A masseuse told me the reason for cellulite is junk food.
She was very suprised how little I had despire my size.
I do eat very healthy most of the time. Just in great quantities.

allegretto · 28/02/2017 16:57

I don't eat junk food and I'm not overweight so that's not true!

Pacha11 · 28/02/2017 16:59

Maybe it's true for the majority of people!

Many people on this thread say they do sport but still have cellulite.

As opposed to many other, who say their cellulite disappeared when they started doing sport AND diet.

So I definitely see a trend.

Pacha11 · 28/02/2017 17:01

allegretto, plus, definitions of junk food vary greatly. My definition of healthy food may be nothing like yours.

In my head I keep finishing off the post title with
... not just for Christmas
Grin
Fucking shit Christmas present if it was!
