AIBU?

Up, dressed, ready & out in 15 mins?

DH can do just this. Out of bed, quick shave, brush teeth, quick shower, towel dry head hair. Put clothes on ( jeans, shirt, jumper) Put shoes on, pick up wallet & keys.. Done.

AIBU to be jealous?

I hate having to wash my hair, dry it, straighten it, put makeup on every day. If I wash it the night before it feels dirty in the morning. On the rare occasions I don't bother with makeup (I don't wear much) people ask me if I'm ill because I look so rough.

How long does it take you just to get up and leave the house?

If it's just me I can do it in 20 minutes including shower and washing my hair (towel dry only).

During the week I also get dd ready including her breakfast and can do it in 45 minutes, an hour if she's not paying ball. Dh needs 45 minutes to get just himself ready. I have no idea why it takes so long.

I get myself and two DCs up and ready and out of the door in about 40 minutes (less on certain days where they have breakfast at school). Lay all clothes out night before, all bags etc packed and ready at the door. I don't wear make up, my hair is washed once a week on a Sunday night and is not really touched on a day to day basis (naturally curly). So I might tease the front of my hair into a clip (more often than not I don't even look in a mirror of a morning!). Get the kids dressed and down for breakfast of cereal, then out the door.

I've been thinking a lot lately about how very short hair would be so much more convenient in life but sadly I don't have the face to pull it off.

I'm lucky in that we live opposite school and I start work at 9.30 so we have aaaages to get ready before leaving in the morning though I find it highly amusing that pre-kids I used to drag my arse out of bed, shower for ages, do my hair, sit and have a leisurely breakfast in front of the tv then leave (late). Can't fathom the people who leave without a cup of tea first!?!

If I need to I can do it in 15 minutes.

But only if I need to.

It usually takes me 45 minutes. Including cup of tea and breakfast.

If I'm having a shower and washing/drying my hair, plus makeup, takes me about half an hour. With my DS, about an hour and a half.

Chacha, I had three inches chopped off my hair recently to sort of just below chin length and it seems to have halved my drying time.

10-15 minutes
Get clothes out night before
Prepare whatever I'm having for lunch, any paperwork or other stuff I need to take with me again night before
I generally have a shower and wash hair at the gym in the evening
In a morning it's just clean teeth, freshen up wash, do hair, get dressed, make bed, grab stuff and go!

Good hour, up at 7, make breakfast plus lunch for work. Tidy up.

Upstairs shower, dress, stretches, make up, out the door.

I get up an hour before leaving the house. In that time I'm up, showered dressed, make up and hair styled. Dress 2dc and feed them breakfast and am out the door.

OP you said you're hair feels dirty if you wash it then night before that's rubbish for you. Have you tried dry shampoo to give it a boost? Have you tried putting shampoo on dry hair then rinsing off then shampooing it again, conditioner just on the ends etc... this really works for me when my hair starts to look greasy more often. I do that every week at least once and use dry shampoo when it feels a bit limp etc

Sorry if a pointless post but it really used to take up all my time washing my hair everyday and I'm glad I managed to stop doing that x

I have short hair so it's not worth arsing about with dry shampoo - plus I don't imagine it would make it feel particularly clean.

Takes me 2 hours if not rushing but we can do it in 1.5 hours that's me and my DS who's 8 months old. Including me showering (not DS he has a bath every other evening) and ironing both our outfits and both our breakfasts made and eaten and his bag for the day packed with food and bottles etc

For those who wash their hair every day (which is really not a good idea) - dry shampoo helps. It does clean the hair, plus gives it volume, if it's thin and limp.

I could get up, pick out clothes, clean teeth, shower, wash hair (let it dry naturally) in 25 mins if I needed to, if it was just me. I seem to spend at least 30 mins shouting at DS to hurry up most days though.

Anyone saying your hair can't possible be dirty if you washed it at night is BU. Thin, oily hair gets greasy overnight and does need washed everyday. And no, that is not caused by washing it everyday. Leave this hair type for two days without washing it and it would need washed with Fairy power spray to cut through the grease Blush

I've got the same fine, limp, greasy hair that you are all describing and used to wash it every morning. After having DS I decided it was too much work and made a concerted effort to make it every other day instead. At first I hated it but you just have to power through a bit and after a while you get used to not washing it. On a non-hair wash day I still spritz with water and blast with the hairdryer for ten seconds, add some dry shampoo and it's honestly fine. Sometimes it even looks better! Worth it to knock 15 minutes off my morning routine.

I get up at 6.10 to leave the house at 8.30 with my children.

I've tried washing it the night before but I sweat get quite hot at night and feel like I need a shower in the morning regardless. My hair is quite thick and if I don't wash it in the morning, feels really greasy by tea time.
Jennifer some good advice there, thank you!

I could do 15mins if I didn't wash my hair/left my hair wet & had no breakfast.

I could get myself ready and in the car in about 12 mins.

The reality is I have to allow another 2 hours and 20 mins for a conveyer belt of dressing other people

We can all get up ready and out in 30 mins. That includes the DC (7&10).

If it was just me I could easily be up and out in 15 mins. I don't bother with makeup though and have breakfast at work.
