... "It makes my teeth itch". This will start a "bun fight" because the op is a "goady" fucker.

AIBU to interpret this as just MN version of the hashtag, or bffs or lols or hun?

I see certain fads sweeping through and I find it interesting. If it is different, what is the difference?

Loving the thread- going to read it properly later on. It's fascinating.

I wince at 'hubby'. And I would wince at a man referring to 'wifey'. No need to do it, it saves no time.

My favourite to be annoyed at though is when some asks a smart-arsed question and ends is 'non' when the question is in English.

'You do realise x,y,z, non?'

DonkeyOaty · 24/02/2017 18:39

Guilty of Franglaisiation here. Unrepentant, moi? Mais oui. ! Grin

It's ... And when you get there fuck off some more

Grilledaubergines · 24/02/2017 22:39

The first bit was right

hefzi · 24/02/2017 22:53

Norks is pre MN: we used it at school in the early 90s

The D-ing doesn't bother me: it's just a forum convention - all have them, after all. I do get irrationally irritated by "naice" on MN (though not in detective fiction, as mentioned by a PP), "boils my piss" and "grinds my gears": no idea why, just get a riling sensation. And I genuinely have never heard hubby/hubs/totes/amazeballs etc IRL. I'm not on FB, though, which may be why!

hefzi · 24/02/2017 22:55

IRL the one phrase I hate is "the wife": that really grinds my gears Grin

Oh sorry Opal I didn't realise I'd left you hanging. Aubergine has it!

TheQueenSnortsAvocados · 24/02/2017 23:58

Apologies @pictish - I didn't mean to be patronising well, I did, but I know when I'm beat :D

I'm afraid it's too late for my brain to read that article, but I've saved it for later.

DontTouchTheMoustache · 25/02/2017 00:07

The only phrase that really grates on me is "boils my piss". It's just horrible!

KavvLar · 25/02/2017 00:13

One could, in fact, say it boiled your piss Moustache

DontTouchTheMoustache · 25/02/2017 00:17

One could kavvlar, one could.
😠😠😠😠😠

ErrolTheDragon · 25/02/2017 00:19

The phrase I've been seeing too much lately which I really don't like (I forbore to mention it earlier at times when people might have been eating) is 'went down like a cup of cold sick'. Urgh...that's just a bit too evocative.

Blackhouse · 25/02/2017 00:28

Op yanbu. 'Goody' fucker and naice, my stomach knots, they makes me cringe so much, when I see them i imagine the person writing them as Alan Partridge for some reason and almost hear them both in a 'That is saaaad' voice

Expellibramus · 25/02/2017 00:29

Ms G. Oogle might be as bad as naice Halo

Andylion · 25/02/2017 00:50

Is it: Oh Do Fuck Off To The Far Side Of Fuck And When You Get There Fuck Off Some More?

ScarlettFreestone · 25/02/2017 01:05

That's it Lion it was in the first thread I ever read on MN, so it has always stayed with me.

I've never had occasion to actually use it in real life thankfully. Grin

BikeRunSki · 25/02/2017 01:17

"Naice" references a shopping list that an MMer found, about 10 + years ago. It had "naicw ham" listed.

Redglitter · 25/02/2017 02:32

The one phrase which is almost guaranteed to ensure I don't click.on a thread is a request for 'hand holding' I don't know why but I hate that. You then go on to have 50.folk saying 'I'm holding your hand' Fuck knows how that works when the OP only has 2. And yes I do know the sentiment behind it but can't people just ask for a bit of support or someone to listen to them instead of bloody 'hand holding'

Ineedmorelemonpledge · 25/02/2017 02:44

You're meant to say "naice" in a Hyacinth Bucket way, aren't you?

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 25/02/2017 02:47

Oh I love it all. Feels like a community. The only problem comes when my MNisms roll over into rl and I haven't realised it's just an MNism. i have to adjust what I've said when people have looked Confused
