The press let into the Gaggle: do they feel like utter brown noses?
How is this going down with Jo American Public? I imagine some people are quite loyal to their usual news source and don't like them being called fake news, much less "pushed back" (is retaliation too big a word for Spicey?)

amispartacus · 25/02/2017 17:37

It must be fucking with some people's minds.

When someone you voted for says one thing but there is plenty of evidence that something else is happening, that must fuck with your mind.

Lweji · 25/02/2017 17:42

The press let into the Gaggle: do they feel like utter brown noses?

They could have boycotted it, but someone had to go in and ask those hard questions, about the issues and about why some media were excluded.

It's those who did neither that I don't respect.

Lweji · 25/02/2017 17:52

Could Trump have won because his name came first in key states?

And did Russia manipulate the order of the ballot papers? Wink

BiglyBadgers · 25/02/2017 17:53

The press let into the Gaggle: do they feel like utter brown noses?

If you read the transcript they aren't giving him an easy ride just because he picked them. It is good to see that even when they let in their favorites the difficult questions are still being asked. I think it must have been tough to see your colleagues turned away for being critical and still stand there and ask the questions about Russia and why the other press had not been allowed in.

If you listen to the audio, they are pretty persistent and Angry Spice is most definitely rattled.

GingerIvy · 25/02/2017 18:06

Interesting.

Did channel 4 attend the news gaggle?

GingerIvy · 25/02/2017 18:11

I can't see how it would possibly fly at this point. A number of the higher level advisors plus Trump and Angry Spice have publicly stated it serves the same purpose/has the same intent/has the same end result as the previous one. It directly contradicts the report they demanded re national security. And it still cannot possibly be in agreement with the law/constitution.

GingerIvy · 25/02/2017 18:12

Sleip hahahahaa Love that. "We are working on it"

GingerIvy · 25/02/2017 18:13

And of course, every day they delay puts paid to their "it's urgent and national security depends on it being implemented immediately."

Lweji · 25/02/2017 18:19

It's amazing the number of terrorist attacks that have happened in the US because of these delays.

Well, except for those committed by white American born people.

BiglyBadgers · 25/02/2017 18:21

I nice little read to remind us of the history of the term 'fake news' and just how quickly it has lost its meaning.

I'm not counting any white terrorism, just those caused by the delay in implementing the ban.

Weekly Address from @WhiteHouse: 45.wh.gov/Z6FYHt

Not sure I can bring myself to watch it.

Let's see...

-bigly win
-fake news
-media didn't bother to report his budget improvements (which were not down to him but he's too uneducated about the government and budgets to understand that)
-DHS report has been hacked or infiltrated or leaked incorrectly. So sad.
-there's a 10 block waiting line of people to stand there and listen to his weekly address. Pictures of the standing cheering crowd to be forthcoming (but we'll never see them).

Canadian Christian leaders denounce Franklin Graham ahead of his Vancouver trip
wapo.st/2lQnkmh

Just to note:

Graham, who has been controversial even among evangelicals in recent years, read from the Bible at President Trump’s inauguration. Though he never officially endorsed Trump, he was seen as a key ally who declared after the president’s win that “God’s hand intervened” in the election. He is the son of famed evangelist Billy Graham and president of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and Samaritan’s Purse.

GingerIvy · 25/02/2017 18:33

“[Graham] has made disparaging and uncharitable remarks about Muslims and the LGBTQ+ community, while portraying the election, administration and policies of U.S. President Donald Trump as intrinsically aligned with the Christian church,” the letter says. “Such blending of politics and religion is dangerous.”

GingerIvy · 25/02/2017 18:35

The Christian leaders cited three specific comments from Graham:

All Muslims should be banned from the United States because Islam is a “very evil and wicked religion” at war with the Christian West.
LGBTQ+ persons should not be allowed to enter churches or even enter as guests into Christian homes, because “the Enemy [Satan] wants to devour our homes.”
The outcome of the recent U.S. presidential election was due to “the hand of God,” giving the impression that the Christian church as an institution is partisanly aligned with an administration and its policies.

The next time we have a Samaritan's Purse thread on here, this above posted article would be a wonderful one to refer to.

Yeah one of you lot needs to watch it, I've got a banging headache from DD standing on my head by accident today so I think Trump would push my pain over the edge.

Lweji · 25/02/2017 18:36

Oh, wait, did he mention the great muslim Muhammad Ali, whose son happened to be asked if he was a muslim and where he got his name from?
Funny that. Sigh.

So that every American, no matter their background (...) can climb the ladder of success. (unless you're a muslim).

Why is there a Carson exhibit in the Museum? They will regret it. If he is approved in Congress.

I also like that about every disadvantaged child in the US to have a choice of school.
So, if they choose a private school, will Trump pay the fee? Maybe DeVos?
Or if they have a choice between a poor school and a poorer school reasonably close to their home?
LAZY education policy. Never mind making schools better. Just give pupils a choice.

More jobs, well paying jobs, safer communities. Promises, more promises, and more unrealistic promises. Particularly when he seems to think that policy making is tweeting.
