to think I'm not 'bonkers' for thinking I might be pregnant with twins?

This is my fourth pregnancy. With the first three I didn't truly believe I was pregnant until the scan as I didn't feel any symptoms at all. This time I tested early and a clearly visible line appeared within thirty seconds. I felt 'heavy' in my stomach within a week, totally went off food, feel completely sick and can't eat after 2pm, apologies for TMI but I have lots of discharge, a really dry mouth, I've gone up a dress size and look the same as I did at 4 months pregnant during my last pregnancy.

I've seen people looking but they've been too polite to ask. I've had lots of cramping and have been so tired I've had to pull over after driving for just ten minutes. All this and I'm only 9 weeks. I mentioned to my sister today that I'm worried it could be twins and she said I was bonkers and over dramatic and that it's just because I'm older than my last pregnancy and because all pregnancies are different. I agree the latter could well be the case but I was only last pregnant two years ago. I feel so very different and think twins could be the reason. AIBU to suspect it or am I being a drama queen?

Hope everythings ok op.
I had really bad cramping on my last pregnancy, having had a previous mc was convinced it was happening again but no it was my twins getting themselves settled in. Congratulations either way!

kimann · 23/02/2017 22:18

congratulations! Flowers i was pregnant with twins (unfortunately lost one later on in the pregnancy) and i was feeling super heavy very early on. I was also quite big very early, so at 2 months plus, looked at least 4 months. Good luck OP! Smile

HarryPottersMagicWand · 23/02/2017 22:19

Fingers crossed for you OP. Flowers

jessiefish · 23/02/2017 22:24

Thanks everyone. I'm going in in the morning. For those who sadly lost a twin, do you mind telling me how many weeks you were when that happened? My eldest is hoping it's twins but if it is I don't want to get her excited about it if it's likely I could lose one later on. The cramping is making me worry about an ectopic pregnancy.

Don't want to upset you as I hope everything is well and it's either twins and both good or one who's healthy and happy. They first realised DT one didn't have HB at 10.5 weeks. However I had awful cramping and bleeding at 8 and 9 weeks in my last pregnancy and I am in the middle of trying to create a peppa pig second birthday cake this weekend

PacificDogwod · 23/02/2017 22:41

jessie, good luck with your scan tomorrow Thanks

I think you should try your hardest not to get too far ahead of yourself just now. By tomorrow you will have some certainties, but right now? It could be twins, or not; all could be well, or not. Fingers crossed for you here.

SalemsCat · 23/02/2017 22:43

Op, I had the same symptoms you're experiencing, was sent to EPU querying ectopic, only to discover I was carrying twins. Fingers crossed all is OK Flowers

lottieandmia · 23/02/2017 22:44

I never felt pregnant but I never had twins! You may be right - I hope all goes well.

lottieandmia · 23/02/2017 22:46

I had cramping in all my (normal) pregnancies.

jessiefish · 23/02/2017 22:46

Thanks Rivers Flowers

I know Pacific, I'll try my best not to over think it but don't think I'll be sleeping much tonight!

Good luck tomorrow!

MakeItStopNeville · 23/02/2017 22:50

If it helps, this sounds very similar to my 4th pregnancy. I also had cramping and thought I was going to lose him early on. He's now 13 so fingers crossed for you!

sweetkitty · 23/02/2017 22:54

With pregnancy no4 I was showing at 5 weeks DD1 told me I was having a baby I said no it's cake she said no mum it's a baby (I knew of course). After the scan she said I told you so!!

There was only one and like you I was so tired as well.

All of my pregnancies have been identical, same bump shape, same cravings, same nausea, same SPD. Nothing gave it away that DCno4 had a willy!

PacificDogwod · 23/02/2017 22:55

Yes, easier said than done, the not worrying, I know.

Do you practice Mindfulness??

spencerreidswife · 23/02/2017 23:04

Good luck tomorrow. Hope everything ok with 1,2 or 3(!!) in there. My closest friend had no idea she was carrying twins when she went for her 1st scan she nearly fell off the examination couch when she was told!!

PingaPenguin · 23/02/2017 23:07

Good luck with your scan, I hope the cramping is nothing to worry about.
I too had awful cramping within the first 10 weeks and had to see the EPU, and all was ok.

PotOfYoghurt · 23/02/2017 23:16

I hope it all goes well tomorrow for you

jessiefish · 23/02/2017 23:21

Thanks all. Going to try and sleep now as the nausea is awful but will update tomorrow. Everything crossed Smile
