to think I'm not 'bonkers' for thinking I might be pregnant with twins?

This is my fourth pregnancy. With the first three I didn't truly believe I was pregnant until the scan as I didn't feel any symptoms at all. This time I tested early and a clearly visible line appeared within thirty seconds. I felt 'heavy' in my stomach within a week, totally went off food, feel completely sick and can't eat after 2pm, apologies for TMI but I have lots of discharge, a really dry mouth, I've gone up a dress size and look the same as I did at 4 months pregnant during my last pregnancy.

I've seen people looking but they've been too polite to ask. I've had lots of cramping and have been so tired I've had to pull over after driving for just ten minutes. All this and I'm only 9 weeks. I mentioned to my sister today that I'm worried it could be twins and she said I was bonkers and over dramatic and that it's just because I'm older than my last pregnancy and because all pregnancies are different. I agree the latter could well be the case but I was only last pregnant two years ago. I feel so very different and think twins could be the reason. AIBU to suspect it or am I being a drama queen?

To felt the same with my 4th pregnancy was huge early on was just 1 baby tho so was totally shocked when 5th pregnancy was actually twins haha

honeylulu · 22/02/2017 23:15

I had a strong feeling I was pregnant with twins and I was right.
It was quite sudden. I was waiting for early scan (was on Clomid) and the lady before me came out shrieking excitedly that her scan had shown twins. As clear as a bell a voice in my head said "you'll go in for your scan next and it will be twins as well". It was.
(Sadly I later miscarried.)

pinboard · 22/02/2017 23:16

Oh, you'll know on Monday?
That's good, not long to wait.
Hope its the result you would prefer?
Congratulations, anyway Thanks

Okite · 22/02/2017 23:16

It's possible of course, but it may also be that it's just different. I had one hideous pregnancy, sickness almost the whole way through, exhaustion, indigestion etc etc. Two other pregnancies I breezed through (apart from spd at the end of the last one). No rhyme nor reason to it, all singletons, mix of boys and girls.
You haven't got long to wait in any case!

Whitelisbon · 22/02/2017 23:17

I had twins, and came on to tell you you may be bonkers, but it's entirely possible from what you've said. I was in maternity jeans by 10 weeks, and felt like you do.
Congratulations either way, and good luck!

MollyHuaCha · 22/02/2017 23:20

OP, please keep this thread going till Monday. We need to know! Er... yes, sorry, I know it's not about us really... Wink

Nospringflower · 22/02/2017 23:22

It could be triplets. Friend of ours had babies 4,5 and 6!

jessiefish · 22/02/2017 23:23

pinboard I'm nervous but twins would be such a blessing that I couldn't possibly regret that it wasn't just one baby. The increased risks associated with twin pregnancy and birth worry me more than the reality of having twins. I know it'd be bloody hard. At least this period of worry will make it seem easy if I do go on to just have the one!

Sssh no spring flower Wink That's got to be really really rare right?!

OP posts:
Nospringflower · 22/02/2017 23:27

Yes i think it is very rare! She thought she might have twins though as big very early and very sick!

Patchouli666 · 22/02/2017 23:30

Four here too. Final pregnancy I knew I was pregnant. Testedositive on day of missed period. Intense nausea, tummy, some boobs etc. Just the one in there. Congrats whatever your belly holds within!

BillyButtfuck · 22/02/2017 23:31

This was 13 weeks if it helps at all (I was also a size 10 pre pregnancy)

Patchouli666 · 22/02/2017 23:31

Bthought it was twins was the bit I meant to include aboveboard!

Girlwhowearsglasses · 22/02/2017 23:33

Entirely possible. Been there. Never been so tired as those first weeks before I knew

jessiefish · 22/02/2017 23:39

I don't usually get tired (despite several poor sleeping children)but by mid morning I'm struggling to keep my eyes open and then at tea time I feel so sick and tired I just want to go to bed.

Damn! Now I'm going to have to placemark to find out!

Pugsymalone · 23/02/2017 00:00

PLACEMARK👏whether it's one or two babies I hope he/she/they are healthy , congratulations x

jessiefish · 23/02/2017 07:12

Thank you for your congratulations Flowers

That does look like how I'm heading Billy. I didn't even buy maternity or bigger clothes with the other three but now have had to buy bigger jeans already despite only eating maybe half of what I usually do for weeks.

Good luck for the scan, it will be interesting to see if your intuition is right!

KP86 · 23/02/2017 07:34

Look at multiples insurance before your scan.

MrsGB2225 · 23/02/2017 07:39

Good Luck at the scan... Please keep us all

Allshadesofpinkie · 23/02/2017 07:43

Oh wow that's exciting!!

ohfourfoxache · 23/02/2017 07:49

Congratulations!

Whether it's 1 or 2- how exciting! Thanks

Donthate · 23/02/2017 07:51

At least you don't have too long to find out. I think you said was a bit short of course it could be twins. Aren't they more likely the older you get?

Zippidydoodah · 23/02/2017 07:52

What's multiples insurance?

Anyway- congratulations, and good luck at the scan, op! I thought one of my pregnancies was twins due to heightened symptoms but it was only one.

how old are your others?
