She looks ten years younger than me, when actually the reverse is true.

My mind is blown. She should bottle it and sell it if she works out what it is.

I was building a new team and one of the women I employed was Chinese. I thought she was about the same age as me (33 at the time) or maybe a couple of years younger. (CV didn't have age on and only had work experience and degree for this amount of time).

When the new team were getting to know each other, she was talking about her daughter who was in medical school...turns out she was nearly 50! I wanted her genes.

So in my anecdata experience, Asian women definitely age very well

I love Lucy Liu in Sherlock. Really expected to hate having a Joan Watson but I love her!

I actually put it down to body care and not letting your body dry.

I love Lucy and I think for her standard in acting does not get roles and love that match it.

Clearly I am but...if you have the money to hire personal trainers, chefs, have hair done and facials regularly and go for natural make up whilst not overdosing on botox I am sure most people would look ten years younger.

We watched a lot of Elementary when I was pregnant with DD. DD is sort of named for Lucy Liu as a result.

My friend is half Chinese and recently showed me a picture of her Chinese Dad. I thought he was about 50.... He was 82. My mind was blown.

Wow, she looks amazing. When I was having my first baby, I had a midwife who was 16. Except she wasn't - she had a 16 year old and was 35 herself. at people who don't look their age.

And Joan Watson is always so brilliantly dressed! Not all tight and low cut. I love what they've done with the character. She's clearly beautiful, but not once have they used the tired "sexy woman as distraction whilst man investigates" trope. Well not yet anyway I'm still on season 4.

Yes to Gabrielle Union too, she was in her thirties playing a teenager in Bring It On and didn't look even slightly out of place!

Certain races tend to age incredibly well. It's rather quite something amazing. I'm mixed race - Arab, African, Latina and English. Can only say that on my English family's side you'd guess the ages.

@Boo technically not true. If that was the case Renee Zellweger and Nicole Kidman would look like twenty year olds. You can tell they look amazing with great skin care plus plastic surgery. But it does kit give the youthful look. It just makes them look different.

I disagree with Joanna Lumley. She does look her age but in a well looked after body.

With Ming-Na Wen the most amazing thing is that at 53 she is still an amazing martial artist and can kick the arse of men half her age.

Best example I ever saw of black not cracking was seeing Eddy Grant singing Electric Avenue on some revival show. He has the body of a 19 year old despite having chart topping hits in the Thatcher era.

I've always heard that people with darker complexions age better because they have more melanin in their skin. Plus, people with darker skin don't feel the need to tan like lighter skinned people do, and the sun really ages you.

And I love Lucy Liu.

Sorry, I've tried a few things here, and can't work out what dry is supposed to be - or was it dry out? Based on Mn history on discussion when it comes to body care in regards to lotions/oils/creams. For generally white people, it's not a done thing as a daily routine which is meant to happen after every bath from top to bottom especially the face.

Your skin stretches every time it moves. Gravity stretches the skin too. Having it constantly moisturised helps with the skin elasticity and reducing it from over stretching.

On black skin any sort of dryness can be seen. It's frown upon when you don't put any cream on it or it's noticeable that you don't look after it. From baby to old. I don't know if it's the same with east Asians.

Vera Wang is 67. Thats 3 years away from 70. I think this pic has been touched up but even other photos of her she doesnt look like any nearly 70 year olds i know. Its deffo the asian gene. Im half asian and can say i also benefit from it. People often mistake me for being much younger and dont believe i have adult children.

I think you're right quencher. Products like Palmers, which people with darker skin tend to use, are amazing.

It helps if you look great to begin with. I am the same age as Lucy Lui and I never looked as good has her in my twenties so not surprisingly I still don't. Orla Brady from mistresses looks amazing at 53.
