I'm in the market for a new hairdresser following a house move, I have a full head of highlights and a cut and blow dry, my old hairdresser used to charge £70 (Yorkshire), I've phoned a few in my new area and they're charging nearer £100. Is this normal?

Also if you live in Leeds, please recommend me your salon!

£18 for a wash cut a blow dry! Used to live in Birmingham and paid a lot more than that for an inferior job!

EggysMom · 22/02/2017 18:17

Suburb of Manchester - local hairdresser, not posh salon:

£45 full colour, cut and blow dry
£35 roots/touch-up, cut and blow dry

P1nkP0ppy · 22/02/2017 18:19

Wash, cut and blow dry £50, with the best hairdresser I have ever had.

delilahbucket · 22/02/2017 18:27

£93 for half head was my latest price. I think it's about £120 for a full head and £75 for a t section. I'm in West Yorkshire. My hairdresser is one of the best though and therefore charges a premium.

Supernothing22 · 22/02/2017 18:28

£64 for full colour and cut just outside of Manchester

Slothlikesundays · 22/02/2017 18:30

Cutting room creative in chapelallerton. Kimberly used to do my highlights - she's very good. Haven't been for 2 years as moved away but used to be around 100 for full head. Less for parting and hairline in between. Worth it though.

flamingnoravera · 22/02/2017 19:04

£120 for cut and colour in Bristol.

usernotfound0000 · 22/02/2017 19:15

NannyR my old one was in Saltaire (possibly the same one!) but I live about 40 mins away now, I have still been going there but it takes about 4 hours when I have a colour factoring in travel time. It's just becoming difficult to manage with DD and only having one car.

South East, 45 for cut and root colour. 55 for ombré.

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 22/02/2017 19:17

West Midlands. I pay £50 for a full colour, cut and blow dry. £12 for a "dry" cut (hairdressers is over the road from my house so I usually wash at home then nip over to the salon with wet hair).

jcne · 22/02/2017 19:57

£60 for a cut and blow. 'Nice' salon in a 'nice' Home Counties market town.

Cartright · 22/02/2017 20:22

I rate Megacityone in Leeds, on Woodhouse Lane opposite Parkinson steps. I was a bit dubious at first that it would be all students, but it seems to be mostly staff and I've had some decent haircuts there, though I haven't had colour. It's £20 for a cut and blow dry.

In Birmingham I pay £50 for T section, cut and blow dry, at a mid-range salon.

glueandstick · 22/02/2017 22:04

South west. £160 for full head highlights, wash cut and blow dry.

JoeMaplin · 23/02/2017 19:21

I wonder if some people are quoting prices for a whole head colour (which is much cheaper) and some highlights (foils). I can't imagine anywhere doing a whole head of foils plus cut and blow dry for £50 as this would be around 3 hours work plus cost of products. If there is, I'm moving there!!!!

MrsTarzan1 · 23/02/2017 19:27

Midlands, full head colour, cut and blow-dry £46

LexieLulu · 23/02/2017 19:27

It's £56 for full head foils, cut and blow where I live. Granted I go on a Wednesday when they have a half price colour deal on (they do that deal Wednesday and Thursday and have different deals Friday/Saturday etc) x

LakieLady · 23/02/2017 19:30

Sussex: full head of foil highlights, cut and blow dry, £56.

That's exceptionally cheap though, when she was on maternity leave a few years ago, I went to another local salon that someone recommended and it was £118, and not half as good.

NuclearSwan · 23/02/2017 19:33

A bog-standard cut is a tenner. That's about all I have.

MrsBungle · 23/02/2017 19:36

Crikey. I pay £100 for full head of highlights, cut and blow dry. Nottingham.

TheSnowFairy · 23/02/2017 19:38

Cut and blow dry £40 in SE England.

Go every 6 weeks or so, adds up to over £300 per year Confused ✂

MoodyOne · 23/02/2017 19:56

I live near wakefield and a full head is £40 and she comes to your house ... I don't know if Leeds will be too far for her but I can send you her details if you want to enquire?

OhTheRoses · 23/02/2017 21:33

I do not dare add up what I spend. Actually winces £1200 (ish) per annum. But I am old and it helps me face my days.

emma6776 · 23/02/2017 22:15

I pay about £175 for a full head of highlights twice a year and then get my t-section done about every 7 weeks in between which is £80 but includes a cut. I'm in Edinburgh.

londonrach · 23/02/2017 22:17

Somerset village £8 for wet cut and blow dry. Now left somerset and pay either nothing (hairdressing school) or £25 for some thing.
