To ask how much your hairdresser charges?

I'm in the market for a new hairdresser following a house move, I have a full head of highlights and a cut and blow dry, my old hairdresser used to charge £70 (Yorkshire), I've phoned a few in my new area and they're charging nearer £100. Is this normal?

Also if you live in Leeds, please recommend me your salon!

£85 cut and 3 colour starlights in Nottingham.

Midlands. Wash cut and blow-dry £38

€50 for cut & blow dry, although I see this more for the cut as I blow dry better!

Have been going to the same hairdresser for about 26 years. Worth every penny. I regularly get compliments & never look like I have just had my hair done.

North West here. I changed salons as mine was asking for £80odd and it wasn't that good.

Mine charges about £56 for full head foils. The most she's ever charged is £74 but that was for my hair to be fully bleached to strip, a new colour put on, opulex and a cut/blow.

Generally I pay mid fifties every time

I feel your pain OP! We moved a year ago (South West), I used to pay £55 for a full colour and cut - every three months or so. Where I am now averages over £100 plus am needing colour more frequently. Am super skint right now so have had to resort to box colour & crazy hair (which only adds to the general shitness!).

Off to the hairdressers later and it will cost me £45 for a cut and blow dry. It's at least £70 on top of that if I want foils. I'm in the SE.

I used to pay almost £100 for half head of foils and cut and blow dry but that was in a trendy salon. I now go to a back street place and pay £34 and I'm just as happy with the result. City centre salons have high overheads... in NE by the way

Holy shit. A cut is £5... have long hair so just a trim and highlights £40... Scotland. I may never move! How do you afford it??

It is my treat! I have had the same person for 20 years and have a mild disability which makes me very self conscious in a hairdresser so have stayed with him. It's like have a matter with a mate nowadays!

I think I'm paying too much based on this thread. I'm in Devon, where such things are often cheaper than elsewhere. £55 for a cut & blow dry.

Cut and blow dry, £29.
DD has a colour, cut and blow dry and pays £65 at a different salon.

I have a cut and blow dry booked in London on Friday - no colour. It is £85. It had better be good!

Don't know where you are in Leeds but I go to one in Saltaire and pay £60 for highlights, cut and blowdry.

I pay £75 for half head of highlights plus cut and blow dry. Mid priced salon in the SW. I only go to the hairdresser 3 times a year though so can just about afford it!

Gosh! I need to move up north! Full head highlights only costs me £130. £160 if I have a cut as well. I have very thick, waist length hair but don't think my hairdresser chargers any more because of that

Also recommending Sketch Hair on Mill Hill (Leeds)!I've been going there for 4 years and the staff are so friendly. I pay £35 for a cut and finish, not sure how much colour would be though.

£25 for a wet cut (I never have it blow dried) and £45 for a full head of highlights. I'm in the South East

£30 for a cut, £40 for colour in Surrey.
