That is shocking. The poor man. I'm glad Neath council have taken it up.

Neome · 21/02/2017 03:09

Yes, I hope they demand action from all responsible parties.

But definatley campaign against Trump and the bigotry he stands for.

GreatFuckability · 21/02/2017 07:01

I'm appalled. I live locally and I also want yo show support somehow.

kalinkafoxtrot45 · 21/02/2017 07:03

I wonder what our government will say.

TheProblemOfSusan · 21/02/2017 07:04

Years ago this happened to us on a school trip, but it was a pupil. She had been born overseas somewhere and didn't have the correct visa for France. They kept us for ages in the coach and kept rechecking everyone's passport and being really suspicious. The poor girl's dad hadn't realised that we were travelling overland and had only got her a visa for our destination country.

It was really frightening and in the end they had to refuse her entry so she and our terrifying German teacher had to get off a coach at two in the morning and just... Find somewhere to stay in Folkestone.

I can't imagine in this climate how scared those kids and staff must have been for their teacher and embarrassing for the poor man who probably checked and rechecked and did everything right.

Zippidydoodah · 21/02/2017 07:06

Unbelievable. Angry

youarenotkiddingme · 21/02/2017 07:13

Gileswithachainsaw · 21/02/2017 07:20

That poor man Sad

Megatherium · 21/02/2017 07:26

Absolutely disgraceful. I'm fascinated to hear what the US has to say about it. Or is this going to be another of those convenient bits of "fake news"?

SoupDragon · 21/02/2017 07:27

Hopefully this will shut up anyone who thinks Trump had a point.

StealthPolarBear · 21/02/2017 07:28

I'm confused.
I thought British Muslims were 'allowed'
I also thought his ban had been overturned
tbh it's bad enough it happens to anyone

StealthPolarBear · 21/02/2017 07:29

I'm dying to visit new York but won't be going until this madness is over

twinmamma2b · 21/02/2017 07:32

Stealth - it could be that he has dual nationality. If the other nationality is one of the banned ones, the rule applies. Angry

StealthPolarBear · 21/02/2017 07:33

Ah ok. Thought it was the other way round.
am I being naively hopeful to hope this will help the anti trump cause.

Megatherium · 21/02/2017 07:34

No, the report says very clearly that he does not have dual nationality.

StealthPolarBear · 21/02/2017 07:35

So brits are no longer welcome in America?
Well that's good to know :)

Piglet208 · 21/02/2017 07:37

Unfortunately the US will not comment and no press will be allowed to ask Trump. It really is concerning that this is happening. poor teacher and colleagues and pupils.

ArgyMargy · 21/02/2017 07:37

Actually I think it's potentially a good lesson for children - they will recognise it for the shameful bigoted act that it is. Children are very good at seeing when things are unfair.

Brokenbiscuit · 21/02/2017 07:43

It's awful. How humiliating for that poor man. And how upsetting for his colleagues and pupils. However, he is just one of many who has been affected by this ban.

Just goes to show that our government's assurances count for nothing. I would like to see Theresa May comment on this situation.
