A friend sent me a link to The Authoritarians by Bob Altemeyer. He was professor of psychology at the University of Manitoba and made a whole career out of studying authoritarianism - and in 2006 decided that understanding the psychology of authoritarianism as it applied to the Tea Party wing of the American Republican party was sufficiently important to write a popular book on the subject.

I'm 20 pages in, and it's a fascinating read, and sheds so much light on the "true believer" type of Trump voter.

It is sad to look at their ages, but it's the ideal time to groom them. Idealist, risk prone, emotionally immature still.

Glad the UK is managing to keep on top of these conspiracies.

On a much lighter note, I've also just found this, from just after the election, I think. Dana Carvey, of Wayne's World.

It's funny - mentioning ole W - how the only thing I really remember was that Florida won him the election so I thought it was so damn close. From a quick Google (and hopefully not FAKE NEWS), I can see he won in 2000 with 271 votes (although not the popular vote) and then 2004, more convincingly with 286 and the popular vote. So where is this 400 odd figure that is quoted?

WAIT - it's not Fake News... I'm looking at the wrong blooming Bush! Wow - Dukakis really wasn't popular, was he?!
