We're getting a takeaway and having a movie night. With all three kids (two teens and a 5yo).

We really know how to celebrate Grin

The valentine's Bunny my lovely Dad always delivers a personalised, wrapped box of maltesers for each person (that's 4 kids and 7 grandchildren...) in the middle of the night to be found on the doorstep in the morning.

How does it look in your house? Hotbed of steamy romance or just another weekday?

DH away working so I'm hoping toddler DS goes to bed easily at 7ish and that baby DS doesn't do the purple crying thing so that I can have a glass of wine and perv over Tom Hardy in Taboo Grin

RuggerHug · 13/02/2017 13:06

I bought him a card that says I love you to the death star and back. And I made extra heart shaped shortbreads (rest are for bake sale in work). Think that's it!

Shutupanddance1 · 13/02/2017 13:54

Just made my hubby a card from baby and I've bought him little Lindor chocolates and card from me.. if she sleeps we may get food! Lol

TheNaze73 · 13/02/2017 13:55

Taking DP to Paris for the weekend, off to Versailles Saturday, taking her up the Eiffel Tower for lunch Sunday (not a euphemism) & have a reservation at Le Cinq on Monday. Staying in & cooking Rick Stein's Icelandic cod tomorrow from the Rejkavik programme.

Laurah1979 · 13/02/2017 13:55

Anyone stuck for ideas Grin

DH and I exchange the tackiest cards we can find then get the DC's (both teens) to judge which is the winner - he keeps winning but I think I have it covered this year Wink

LoveMyLittleSuperhero · 13/02/2017 14:06

Another one who wants to adopt your dad! Glad he's better Flowers

I will be looking after DP and DD (16 weeks) we have all come down with this awful bug. Sore throats, coughing sneezing and feeling yuck! Plus dd is mid trial of different baby formulas for dairy intolerance so plenty of sloppy nappies and vomit. Yey lucky me. Far cry from last year! (deadpool and DD was conceived Blush)

AcademicNerd · 13/02/2017 14:10

A night in with my fiance and my baby bump, with a feast of stuffed crust pizza, garlic bread, chocolate brownies, and the Star Wars Holiday Special. Heaven!

natwebb79 · 13/02/2017 14:15

We'll wake up, say 'Happy forced love day', reluctantly exchange cards and then DH will go to work. In the evening we'll use it as an excuse to get a mid-week curry. Well, that and the fact my mum's up visiting. Just call us Cupid. Grin

TheSecretMrsFairbrother · 13/02/2017 14:16

I have my driving test, so either crying over my failure or celebrating my success.

Cheerybigbottom · 13/02/2017 14:19

I'm at home with 5yr old, plans are to go swimming and buy play doh. DP will no doubt come home 4 hours late from work as he does every day. I'll re-heat his dinner, go for a shower and go to bed.

Won't even get the valentines card ds5 made at school on Friday, because he wrote it to his best friend & posted it through his door on Saturday 😂😄

gillybeanz · 13/02/2017 14:21

collecting dd and half her belongings from school, seeing her play in 2 concerts, then dh picking us up from the venue at about 9.30pm

We tell each other we love each other everyday and don't need to be told by Hallmark and florists to do so.
I can't see the appeal tbh, but each to their own.
Soon to be 25 years of marriage and never sent a v card to each other.
Sent plenty anonymous ones when younger before marriage.

TheABC · 13/02/2017 14:24

I am planning to watch tom hardy read the goodnight story on CBeebies. DH is getting a card and his favourite meal. Sex depends on how long the baby stays asleep.

Aebj · 13/02/2017 14:27

It happens to be our wedding anniversary aswell tomorrow ( 13 years, get less for murder!!!).
Thanks to joys of being a service family we will be again be spending it apart.
I will probably make boys homemade burgers , as they love them!!! Will put love hearts on them with the sauce.

coffeecuppa · 13/02/2017 14:27

I'm in the process of divorce so I'm taking my DS (16 months) out at 4pm for an early 'romantic' dinner. Then prosecco, naughty snacks and a film on my own once he's in bed.

AVY1 · 13/02/2017 14:33

Husband is away so I'll be having a glass of red and watching Vikings.

When he returns on weds he shall receive a print of a running Forrest Gump illustration and probably wonder what it's for...

Flushedwithsomething · 13/02/2017 14:34

Your Dad sounds lush OP. Tomorrow is my birthday so it all gets muddled but we are off out for tea and I have a new MAC red lippy - I love little treats! Card for DH and a fancy steel mug as a gift (weird but he will like it!). I have a stinking cold atm so hoping that lifts a bit.

Sherlock35 · 13/02/2017 14:35

My STBXH and I never celebrated. Ever.

My current DP lives about 100 miles away from me and it's half term so we are sending cards and presents through the post. He's got some DVDs he wanted. (I'm usually much better at gifts then this)

He got me a lovely card and a fancy bookmark (I read a lot Smile). And he's coming up Saturday so probably a nice lunch in and a film.

Enjoy yourselves, whatever you're doing!

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 13/02/2017 15:30

I'll be working all day, then do the same thing I do every Valentine's day since splitting up with my ex 7 years ago, which happens to be sweet fuck all. Not had any V day romance since.

Magzmarsh · 13/02/2017 15:35

Going to see trainspotting with dd. Had arranged it before I realised it was valentines. I thought she'd want to cancel and go out with her boyfriend but neither of them are bothered and dh and I couldn't care less about valentines so everything is cool 😎

SisyphusHadItEasy · 13/02/2017 15:35

I am a neverending romantic.

I accepted an extra shift at work tomorrow from 1-9:30, so DH can handle the home front on his own.

WanderLustingLane · 13/02/2017 15:40

My DP is so unpredictable. He could literally not even realize, or he could surprise me with flowers, card and takeaway curry with films and cuddle on sofa.
There's no in-between, it's always hit or miss Grin

OvariesBeforeBrovaries · 13/02/2017 15:41

I've actually been romantic this year and done a little cute memory box for DH.

Although it's also partially to apologise for me and DD spending today sticking googly eyes on baby potatoes and hiding them in cupboards for DH to find when he comes home from work.

Titsywoo · 13/02/2017 15:45

I'm at work in the morning while DH is home with the kids. Might do a family lunch out then chill on the sofa in the evening. We don't tend to do Valentines day but DH and I are going away for the weekend since it's his birthday next week so that's pretty romantic Grin.
