Trampolining without fear of dribbling a bit of pee?!!?
Females only to answer (I am guessing?).
Also have you given birth?

I'm currently pregnant with DC2 and even sneezing is a risk!! Normal or do I need to increase daily pelvic floor exercises to twice daily...

Bladder sound.

Knees knackered, though.

I've had two natural deliveries (one a ten pounder which came out looking like a toddler) and go on their trampoline all the time. We have a huge trampoline park close by and regularly go. Not peed myself yet, but it's definitely something to look forward to.

DH won't go on them, though, as he's afraid he;ll hurt his knee after suffering cartilage damage through rugby years ago. I think he's secretly just afraid his portly frame might destroy the trampoline.

n0ne · 09/02/2017 22:06

Nope nope nope. Pushing 40, 1 DC, not very good at doing my kegels. Was showing DD how to use a skipping rope last summer - oops! Mummy just needs to go and change Blush

SumAndSubstance · 09/02/2017 22:07

Our local trampoline park says you're not allowed on if you're pregnant. I presume that's a liability thing rather than a potential leak thing though... I have been on since my DS was born, with no problem to report, but now that I am pregnant I am obeying the 'no pregnants' rule.

crocodarl · 09/02/2017 22:07

Love the trampoline. Don't always go on when invited though because a) I'm mildly concerned about sending kids into orbit and b) I currently like to take the opportunity to drink a coffee and talk to adults for 5 minutes instead.

3 kids, no leaks, not now or during pregnancy. Doctor tried to convince me to go for electro-magnetic therapy on pelvic floor muscles after 3rd birth, she recommends it for all women who've given birth and I'm tempted but it's very expensive and in the long run you still need to do the exercises yourself or it was all for nothing.

LolDeLol · 09/02/2017 22:08

I use the trampoline but I have a pee first. 😂 (Four kids).

UnidentifiedUser · 09/02/2017 22:08

Er can I recommend 'don't be a pisser' programme by Mommastrong? She's an exercise therapist extraordinaire, and her exercise programmes have done wonders for my poor pregnancy/labour damaged body.
I wouldn't have jumped on a trampoline last year, but I would now Smile

salsamad · 09/02/2017 22:09

Can bounce on trampolines without fear of wetting myself. I've had one DC, however I go to yoga religiously which is great for toning and strengthening your pelvic floor.
Infact my pelvic floor is now like a steel trap, on my last cervical screening my steel-like pelvic muscles broken several of the disposable speculums and the nurse had to use "old faithful"! Blush

JennyWreny · 09/02/2017 22:11

I haven't read the whole thread and not sure if anyone has mentioned the brilliant Gussie Grips. This is definitely worth watching - hilarious and very, very informative re: pelvic floors.

Also would highly recommend the NHS Squeezy app as mentioned by a PP.

tricornel · 09/02/2017 22:12

3dc foof births - I have no problems with bouncing! I must have a springy vag I think.

busyboysmum · 09/02/2017 22:14

I'm 47 have had 3 vaginal births and no worries about trampolining. Have done it a few times with my youngest. It's bloody exhausting though.

AlmostAJillSandwich · 09/02/2017 22:15

27, never had a child, don't suffer stress incontinence, but i absolutely would not go near one. I have OCD and my biggest fear in the world is wetting myself (even just a bit) and i do have an over sensitive bladder, get UTI's a lot, get a sudden urge i need the loo NOW, when theres barely more than an egg cup full of fluid in my bladder and would have an accident if i don't get sat/lay down. I try to avoid everything that puts extra pressure on the bladder (so no doing weights when i used to go to the gym) and trying to lose weight. Sadly my incontinence fears and germ phobias rule out me having a child :(

FannyFacial · 09/02/2017 22:21

Nope, no way. I pissed myself on a trampoline at a bbq afew years back... It wasn't just a trickle, it was a river that just wouldn't stop flowing. I was wearing jeans. And this was before I had even had dc Blush

DramaAlpaca · 09/02/2017 22:22

I'd be more worried about my creaky knees, but I wouldn't go on one anyway because I'm a coward who's scared of bouncing too high Blush

I've had three DC and my pelvic floor was fine after the first two, but a disaster after the third was born. My GP referred me to a physio who used interferential therapy to sort out my leaky bladder and it's fine now.

CoffeeCoffeeAndLotsOfIt · 09/02/2017 22:23

2dc and I would. Think I'd be ok.

Youngest dc is 4 months old, but both c/s so that may make a difference.

mowgelijeffs · 09/02/2017 22:23

Never ever had a leak since I've had my son.
Only maybe three times when I was pregnant and vomiting at the last few weeks!

needapaddle · 09/02/2017 22:25

2x DCs & would, no leackage/wee issues but am freaking enormous with F cup boobs so could be amusing/dangerous for other reasons!

WeShouldOpenABar · 09/02/2017 22:25

@UnidentifiedUser what is in the program would love anything but kegals

@AlmostAJillSandwich I've no ocd but similar issues pm if you want a chat

llangennith · 09/02/2017 22:26

65 and 15st and have had 3 DC (a long time agoGrin). I go on DGS's trampoline and I'm fine. But I'm puffed after less than a minute so not really enough time to judge whether I'd pee or not!

Dearlittleflo · 09/02/2017 22:28

2 children- I'd love to go on a trampoline, but ideally in a sports bra. No wee issues.

whatsthepointofmorgan · 09/02/2017 22:28

I wouldn't, last time I did I wet myself. Am clenching muscles right now. They're pathetic, must try harder.

I almost pooed myself.
Things obviously aint what they used to be Sad

AlmostAJillSandwich · 09/02/2017 22:43

Surely pooing yourself isn't as bad though? If you're in your own garden anyway, its easier to hide whilst you go to sort yourself out. I do have bowel incontinence fears too but thats more containable that an immediate soaking through everything of pee. I wear 2 night time sanitary towels layered one right up the back then other quite high at the front and overlapping in the gusset bit, 24/7. Thanl god i do, i needed a wee in my sleep once, had a dream i went to the loo, woke up, went to the toilet and had peed myself, all contained but left me terrified of sleeping, especially as i have the dreaded "going for a wee" or desperately looking for a loo dream at least once a night and terrified of a repeat. I know it was likely just a very unlucky one off, but knowing it can happen makes it so much worse. If i had to lose control i'd much prefer it to be bowel (but solid!)

blueshoes · 09/02/2017 23:14

2 dcs, both cs. I feel the same as I did pre-kids. I don't go on trampolines but run and do star jumps and burpees for exercise every evening.

MoonriseKingdom · 09/02/2017 23:59

This is a well timed thread as I am supposed to be going to a toddler bounce session in the morning. Second child is 4 months. Just had a practice bounce and think I'll be ok!

There was a similar thread to this previously and I posted this at the time. If you search google scholar for trampolining incontinence there are quite a few articles. As much as 80% of elite female trampolinists have experienced incontinence. Admittedly they are doing significantly higher impact exercises than your average bouncer but they are young highly fit women who have mostly not had babies.
