To NOT be super annoyed at OH

So OH has been a bit of idiot and let his van run out of oil. The engine has now seized and needs replaced. Goodbye £4000!

My neighbour was round and suggested i might be really annoyed at him (understandably!). But I'm not really. It was daft of him and an expensive mistake! More so given we don't have the money and are saving for an impending wedding.. But I just think it was a mistake and sh!t happens. Me giving him a hard time won't make the situation any better.

How would you react?

Weeeeell, shit happens. He feels a prat, he'll be making up the difference. I'd be mindful of the fact I am certainly not perfect and have done and will do stupid things during the course of my life.
IMO life is a bit too short to get shit up about things that aren't reeeally that serious in the grand scheme of things.

I would be furious.

Seriously though, yes it's £4K and not to be sniffed at but what can you do? And I bet he will never ignore that light again.

Just because it's OK for some people to put something like this 'in the bank' so they can dine out on it later, doesn't mean everyone could. £4000 would ruin a lot of people and couldn't just 'put it on a credit card'.

I'd probably say 'oh ffs you're an idiot' and then get over it as it's only money, I love my husband more than I love money.
However if we were broke I'd be a lot more annoyed.
