Budget is about £15 - happy to spend a bit more for THE ONE!

I've just broken my One Click Cup - loved it but the design of the seal meant tea would dry in uncleanable places and get really gungey. I was forever poking with a bottle brush.

Bodum travel mug leaked.

Generic brand £5 one was big and fat - worked a treat but didn't fit in cup holders and lid did not come apart to clean.

It needs to fit in a standard cup holder
Really can't tolerate leaking, and I like to tip right up and drink to the bottom
Keep warm for at least 2 hours
Easy clean lid, I need to see all the bits to know it's clean!

Any recommendations?

If anyone is looking at that one on Amazon, yes it has a drinking spout on top, pop the lid with the drinking hand if your are in the car etc. It's great!

My one, the lid unscrews and underneath the lid there's a clip which you unclip and put in the dishwasher, happy Days!! I do use my metal one more as, as had already been said, the colour ones aren't supposed to go in dishwasher. Good luck.

MrsPnut · 04/02/2017 21:47

We have a couple of avex ones, the lid has a bit that flips out so it gets cleaned properly and the lid goes in the dishwasher.

These are the best you'll find...

They say this keeps drinks hot for 6hours, but it's easily longer than this!

I don't like my Contigo - it keeps the drink too hot!! Even after an hour of being in the cup it's still too hot to drink.

I want something so I can drink on my commute - not something I can only drink 2 hours after I've started work!!

WarmTrs · 04/02/2017 22:23

Bernards make it cooler?
I have a contigo, I make the tea, leave the lid off while I'm pottering about, then it's ready to drink in the car.

ShelaghTurner · 04/02/2017 22:27

Contigo. I adore it. I didn't know it couldn't go in the dishwasher though. Mines green and goes in it all the time.

WellyMummy · 04/02/2017 22:36

I've got Contigo and Avex, love them both. My Avex ones have a locking button which I prefer. Double pack from Costco is the best value, but if you're only buying one make it a stainless steel one as the paint slowly peels on the coloured ones.

Don't bother with Avex or Contigo, they good, I have them, but the best one ever is £4 from Morrison. It keeps drinks hot literally all day. It doesn't leak, it doesn't leave an after taste. I bought one as I didn't want to take my Contigo on holiday and I have never touched the Contigo one since. Best Buy ever.

travailtotravel · 04/02/2017 22:41

Another contigo fan here with the silver advice. However, cleaning thse things so the colour doesn't get damaged - use dental tabs ... the tannin just lifts off. Amazing.

5foot5 · 04/02/2017 22:46

Don't know whether this will fit your bill [[www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00CPP8Z4Q/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1&tag=mumsnetforum-21 Mighty Mug Go]] but they are bloody clever. You can't knock them over!

alabasterangel · 04/02/2017 22:49

Can someone post a pic of the morrisons one? Concerned I might not buy the right thing. Current using an IKEA one which is cold after an hour....

CatsRidingRollercoasters · 04/02/2017 23:00

Contigo. Trust me. You will not be disappointed.

I love mine and have used it almost every day for about 3 years. It survives the dishwasher too.

It has never leaked. It gets chucked into my handbag/briefcase/under the buggy, usually upside down.

I can make a flask of tea at 6am and it'll still be warm at lunchtime.

leighb23 · 04/02/2017 23:11

Bernards, my cuppa gets made in it at 5.45 - hubby puts the hot in, then you have to leave lid off for a few minutes then before he puts lid on he puts a bit of cold in. I can start drinking it at 6.30 when alarm goes off but it's still ok if school run had been horrendous and I've not finished it by 8.45!

Sherlock35 · 04/02/2017 23:15

I also have a huge Contigo water bottle. Can't recommend them enough

leighb23 · 04/02/2017 23:15

Oh and I've also found - general advice - steer clear of plastic mugs! They will get eaten away by your tea or dishwasher and then you get mouthfuls of old flaky tea. Yucky yuk yuk yuk!! The avex ones are metal bodied and plastic lidded so generally easy to look after. I've not used my painted ones much as they can't go in dishwasher Blush

Xmasbaby11 · 04/02/2017 23:16

Camelbak. Love it so much.

SophieGiroux · 04/02/2017 23:20

I've had a couple from Starbucks, they are really good and have never leaked. I normally just chuck it in my handbag on its side and never had any issues.

tovelitime · 05/02/2017 08:49

I don't have a picture of the Morrisons one but it's stainless steel including inside with a black flip up lid.

ladygracie · 05/02/2017 08:51

My £3.50 primark one is the best ever.
