Is it just me or did Angry Spice completely avoid talking about Russia AGAIN today?? He was specifically asked, and utterly sidestepped it.

woman12345 · 03/02/2017 18:40

Sorry about that if it's not. How do you check?
Thought it was weird that Conway invented a massacre simultaneous to the Paris attack by some one with no arms in his rucksack, as Fillon is being undone. Not in any way to take away from it being terrorist, in so much as it must have been terrifying to witness.

Permanent War worked well in 1984 for Big Brother, think that has had good sales in US, really, and NYT posting that their sales are way up, hopefully some of that is true.

The Neil Gorusch thing I was talking about, which could be a false story.

Apparently Budweiser is Belgian and it should not interfere in US politics (acc. to some tweets).

Is anyone else sick of seeing his smug smiling face everywhere yet?

Are you suggesting it should be rearranged?

Alternative face?

I'd buy the app.

amispartacus · 03/02/2017 18:43

Of course, now whenever someone from the Trump administration has a go at the media, it's easy to say that someone made a mistake just like Conway did...

Thing is, if the UK made one of those videos, it just wouldn't be funny. Not even if it was brilliant. It wouldn't be funny because that is the relationship the UK already does have, or sees itself as having, or is seen by others as having, so it cannot be spoofed. I laughed watching them but also felt rather sad, as it's a game we can't play, a European joke we can't join in for more reasons than one.

Roussette · 03/02/2017 18:45

This is the reply to my strongly worded, yet polite, email to my MP about Trump's visit and the immigration ban.

Very mealy mouthed it is.

^Thank you for contacting me regarding President Trump.

It was great that our Prime Minister, Theresa May, was the first foreign head of government to meet the new President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, in Washington DC. By all accounts they formed a good relationship with constructive engagement on security, defence, intelligence, Brexit and trade.

Following the Prime Minister’s visit, President Trump signed the executive order banning citizens of seven Muslim-majority countries from entering the USA for a period of 90 days. Whilst we in the UK might disagree with that action, the US has always taken their national security incredibly seriously.

I believe that those who are calling for President Trump’s state visit to the UK to be cancelled are wrong. The mark of a candid friend is to be able to speak frankly to them when they are wrong but where you agree with them you must cooperate closely for the mutual advantage of both countries.

Once again, thank you for contacting me^

cozietoesie · 03/02/2017 18:47

Goodness, Roussette. It won't have been drafted by your MP. Smile

AcrossthePond55 · 03/02/2017 18:50

More EOs!?!?!?!? I don't think I can stand it.

Honestly, what will it take? I'd love to see every country in the EU issue a travel ban against the US. Or sanctions and tariffs. Something. I know it would hurt me as a US resident, but I'm OK with that.

Trump doesn't give a flying fuck about hard words from the EU leaders, or any world leaders, for that matter. He. Just. Doesn't. Care. He's running the country the way he runs his business, riding roughshod over anyone who gets in his way and not caring who he ruins in the process or what anyone thinks about him. Trump will never change his ways of his own volition. Unfortunately the only thing that is going to work is for us, the people, to hurt enough that we all rise up, not just the left. Perhaps when Trump's ignorant support base in the midwest can't sell their grain, cars, whatever to Europe or China, when his rich cronies can't jet off to the South of France this summer, when all those businessmen who voted for less regulation and more tax breaks start to hurt because they can't import what they need to manufacture, maybe then the outcry will be loud enough for Congress (Republicans and Democrats) to actually do something.

"President Trump mounted an all-out assault on financial regulation on Friday, announcing an array of steps to tear down safeguards enacted to prevent a repeat of the 2008 financial crisis and turning to the Wall Street titans he had demonized during his campaign for advice."

That's how it starts, if that tells you anything.....

Kelly Anne Conway is the new Eva Braun in my opinion.

Trump is poking everyone he can with a stick looking for a reaction - dont't think Iran will take much poking - then he will be able to justify his idiotic undemocratic ideas

Lweji · 03/02/2017 18:53

This is where Europe and the rest of the world need to isolate the US. Or we'll all pay the price. Literally.
