... 8 types of frying pan, 7 teapots and 4 guitars.
Is it just me BU or is this excessive?

so he only needs to wash once a month :o
if you have the space and actually use them or they are collectors items why not?

Secnarf · 02/02/2017 19:02

So does mine - all white with blue checks of different sizes. His wardrobe looks like it's full of tablecloths and tea towels.

He also has about 6 pairs of identical chinos

Hassled · 02/02/2017 19:02

The 8 frying pans is excessive. I can sort of just about understand the rest.

Justmuddlingalong · 02/02/2017 19:03

It's polo shirts in our house. Bloody gazillions of them. Forever buying more coathangers!

MrsMoastyToasty · 02/02/2017 19:05

DVDs, books and drills are common features in our house

Bananalanacake · 02/02/2017 19:06

Well that's more economical when it comes to washing, he need only wash shirts when he has a full load, never understood people who wash clothes every day for the sake of it, surely that costs more in the end.

BeansMcCready · 02/02/2017 19:06

Hmmm... my DH has seven shirts which he wears in rotation until they are literally falling apart with sweat stains! I don't know if that's any better! (He also has kept every pair of flight socks he has ever been given on a flight, and he flys a lot!)

ThomasHardyPerennial · 02/02/2017 19:11

Hope he does his own ironing! My DH has the same amount of shirts (casual and work). He has twelve millions pairs of cufflinks, socks, and about twenty pairs of chinos. Only two frying pans though Shock!

Banana25 · 02/02/2017 19:13

I'm so glad it's not just me!

I refuse to count DH's belongings. He uses three shoe racks, plus storage above the wardrobe, two double wardrobes and two large drawers. Plus the wardrobe in the spare room.

It's a bloody nightmare. He won't part with anything even though it means I have be creative to store any of my stuff Hmm

AppleAndBlackberry · 02/02/2017 19:17

I think I have 7 frying pans and a wok... They are all different sizes, one is a griddle and one is a skillet that belonged to my grandmother so YABU on that front. I can also see how someone would use 4 guitars. 37 shirts is quite a lot though and does anyone actually still use teapots these days?

Crowdblundering · 02/02/2017 19:19

I have over 100 pairs of shoes - I have no right to count anything Grin

SecretNutellaFix · 02/02/2017 19:49

My husband has at least ten coats/ jackets excluding suits, of which he owns 6.

He also has 3 toiletry bags, a dozen ties and 3 cans of deodorant on the go.

My husband doesn't wear suits for daily use- he wears jeans and t-shirts to work.

It vexes me greatly that I'm not allowed to get rid of some of his stuff.

I have tonnes of stuff myself to get rid off- I have 6 saucepans ffs.

NashvilleQueen · 02/02/2017 19:51

Does he wear them to work? If so that's not so many. If I count all tops/dresses I wear for work or casually I've prob got more than that

CheerfullyIndifferent · 02/02/2017 19:54

4 guitars is about right Grin I only have one (sad face)

Nomorechickens · 02/02/2017 19:58

DH irons his own shirts. We usually have a laundry basket piled high with unironed shirts. When DM visited she would sometimes take pity on him and do his ironing. She once ironed 40 shirts for him (not his entire wardrobe).
When I first met him he used to buy a new shirt from Dickie Dirts (cheap, open late) to save ironing one for the next day. He still has some shirts he bought in the 80s. Because he has so many he finds it hard to wear them out

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 02/02/2017 20:00

I just counted. I have 8 teapots Blush

luckylucky24 · 02/02/2017 20:02

DH has over 40 tshirts but never wears the ones at the bottom. I am tempted to sift through and bin a load. I cant even close the draw some days!

HelenaGWells · 02/02/2017 20:05

I probably have 37 t-shirts with random nerdy things on them.

Grittyshunts · 02/02/2017 20:05

Love this thread! My DH has 22 fishing rods!! Hmm

Wiggleyfingers · 02/02/2017 20:26

When I moved in with my DP I was overwhelmed with how many pairs of socks he had. I ended up counting them and at age 27, he had 70 pairs of socks!

RJnomore1 · 02/02/2017 20:28

I'm pretty sure my dh has more than 37 coats and jackets 😕

languagelearner · 02/02/2017 20:30

Gritty: "Love this thread! My DH has 22 fishing rods!!"

On the good side, you can use 11 fishing rods for yourself when and if you're off to the north on a fishing holiday next summer... Grin

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 02/02/2017 20:31

DH has 137 shirts.

Passthecake30 · 02/02/2017 20:32

Dp has about 6 drills 🙄

I have about a million boring basic vests but I can't get rid as they are all perfectly fine. Just dull.

isseywithcats · 02/02/2017 20:58

my OH has about 40 shirts (dosent wear shirts to work) about 60 tee shirts, did have about 100 long sleeved tops till i made him go through them and give to charity shop ones that dont fit any more, about 100 pairs of identical black socks, about 100 pairs of identical black underpants, and this is whats left after i spent around three months washing ironing and sorting out (chucking) loads of his clothes when we moved in together, before we got together he was one of those men who would just buy a new top if he was going out and if he really liked a top he would buy three the same , i have curbed his clothes buying but every week without fail another bloody cd turns up to add to the around 400 cds he already owns, luckily they are in his office, i have one wardrobe wioth seven of each item one set of tee shirt, jeans and jumper for each day of the week a few going out tops and a few dresses, do confess i own about 50 pairs of socks and knickers
