Never, merry, never ever ever. All news media and rational public persons and scholars are saying this is 'unprecedented'.
Looking back, and I'm NOT a historian, I'd say perhaps the closest one might come to this could possibly be Lincoln's declaration of martial law just after the beginning of the Civil War, but that was to try to save the Union. It was approved by Congress two years later, in the midst of the War. I'm sure to many at that time it probably appeared 'Trumpian'. But no President at ANY time has gone out of his way to antagonize parts of the citizenry, not to mention other foreign leaders.
I've disagreed with many Presidents before, the Bushes and Reagan come to mind. But NEVER have I felt a President has so disrespected 'We the People' like Trump has. And never have I seen a President disrespect the leaders of our allies, let alone 'enemies'. Even Reagan referred to the USSR leader as MR Gorbachev when he said 'tear down this wall'.
