I'm relatively new here. Are we allowed to mention a Portuguese Supreme Court ruling today about a missing British child in Praia da Luz.

Don't want to break any rules. Thanks.

I've never read the book nor Kate McCanns. I do have Kate's book in my collection but I've never been able to bring myself to read it.
I'm the type who watches US Forces coming home videos on youtube while suffering PMS, bawling my eyes out and eating ice cream. I'm not sure I could read either of them.

MintChocAddict · 31/01/2017 22:30

Here's a big spoon OP and a Biscuit
Leave it alone. No good ever comes of these threads and I'm pretty sure you already knew that despite your 'innocent' intentions and newby denials.

Sparklingbrook · 31/01/2017 22:30

Now exchange 'snippy' for just rude.

meltownmary · 31/01/2017 22:34

I don't mind anyone having a go at me. But for a good reason would be a start.

MNHQ are delighted the Portugal issue may have descended into typical tit for tat against the Newbie OP. LOL.

But thank you all anyway for the entertainment.

I will be baaaack! You old timers are great fun. I've been watching you lol.

Genuinely I never take offence on a message board. Why would I?

Hmm

You've just descended into bizarre.

The problem with MM threads is that, inevitably, posters who have a weird personal grudge against her parents start posting very unpleasant insinuations or just straightforward poison. The only sensible way for MNHQ to respond to this is either to delete loads of really nasty posts and eventually delete the thread or to save themselves time and nuisance and just delete the thread.

These threads have a real tendency to turn into something like a sewer.

meltownmary · 31/01/2017 22:39

Why not Just have a bit of banter and sense of humour sometimes FGS.

Or go see a counsellor for your issues with an anonymous poster typing on a message board.

It is not that difficult. Unless you have been here since the Millenium or something and of course know it all.

Sorry if I don't know the drill, and thank you for your replies.

Banter and sense of humour on a MM thread? Confused

Lynnm63 · 31/01/2017 22:43

I didn't know about the Supreme Court ruling. That's quite worrying. I don't think I've ever posted anything defamatory but I'd have assumed PM's were not subject to the same laws of libel or defamation.
I think I'll just stick to cat pictures now safer

meltownmary · 31/01/2017 22:48

Sparkling.

There is much fun on here.

That's why I stayed. The current affairs can be reactionary and terrifying, but I get over that.

The AIBU seems to be where certain posters are vilified.

But I shall carry on. Some people have BIG issues that they project in AIBU. Been watching a while.

Some I said.

Anyway as a newbie I will still fight my corner LOL.

I think many of you are as mad as myself and I like that.

...a bit of banter and a sense of humour... Hmm

I was giving you the benefit of the doubt, OP. Was.

TattiePants · 31/01/2017 22:50

OP I was on holiday in Praia Da Luz when it happened, funnily enough I don't have a sense of humor about it so won't join you in a bit of banter.

Tattie and Pavlovian,

the reference to banter was about posters on any forum here in general. Read back, thank you.

OP posts:
Sparklingbrook · 31/01/2017 22:56

My 14 year old DS loves a bit of banter just like in The Inbetweeners. But not about MM.

There is indeed much fun on here. Away from AIBUs about missing children.

Sparklingbrook · 31/01/2017 22:57

You are not wrong Dixie.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 31/01/2017 23:02

This was not really the right topic to start a thread on if you were looking for banter.

I don't think many people would find it funny.

meltownmary · 31/01/2017 23:04

Sparkling.

I don't think I had any "banter" about the child that cannot be mentioned. Did I?

I was talking about things in general on this site.

It is still great for allowing bad language for starters. That's amazing. Never experienced a message board that allowed the word Fuck or Cunt before now.

So it's moot about any other censorship isn't it really. Or is it hypocritical?

More to do with law suits. Go figure.

meltownmary · 31/01/2017 23:10

Thank you everyone.

I now know how to check a poster's previous. As if I could be fekkin bothered. Why? Honestly. Some people have too much time on their hands or are on a mission to do this. Sad if I may say so.

Thank you everyone.

And MNHQ will be very relieved that no one cares about the OP, lol.

OP posts:
38cody · 31/01/2017 23:26

I have NO IDEA what any of you are talking about...

gillybeanz · 31/01/2017 23:30

Should I be here?
It's like stepping into a parallel universe, I don't like it.
Nurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrse!

brandywine · 31/01/2017 23:31

It is a veteran's board. Difficult to break in.

Although to be fair op MARY did his/her/transgender/ no name best.

And some were ok.
