I remember the stop the war coalition have come under controversy recently for not condemning Putin, the Ukraine crisis and the Russian bombing of Syria strongly enough, might be connected to that? Stop the War can be quite selective about which wars they want to stop.

Article here from the Washington Post about Trump filing for the 2020 election on Inauguration Day: President Trump tells the FEC he qualifies as a candidate for 2020

Also, someone has put a picture of the supposed paperwork on YouTube:
"While this does not constitute a formal announcement of my candidacy for the 2020 election, because I have reached the legal threshold for filing FEC Form 2, please accept this letter as my Form 2 for the 2020 election in order to ensure compliance with the Federal Election Campaign Act."

I don't understand US procedures. Someone above said it affects organisations being able to criticise him (as could be seen as campaigning against him). And it might affect what funding he can receive and from whom.

Could really do with someone who knows explaining this.

That Dennis Skinner - he's just so fake

Paisley saying that the people of Ulster have been told to talk to the most objectionable people so its a double standard not to invite Trump to the UK - is he intentionally grouping Trump with the IRA?

So having listened to BJ, I think our position is that we continue to suck up to Trump, while assuming the US will be able to reign him back. Trump will be neutered, but we'll still be friends and get a good trade deal. I just hope this assumption that there are enough checks in place is correct.

I didn't realise all 7 of those banned countries also banned Israel passport holders.

Looking at that FCO travel advice, British passport holders may be denied entry to USA, because of countries they have recently visited. Does anyone have any idea which countries might be added to that list?
I don't have entry visas for any of the current banned list, but I have a fair few from countries that I can see becoming " of interest", not to mention a phone full of contacts with nasty, foreign- sounding names, some of whom live in, or were born in, countries on the banned list.
I will be visiting Texas for business in a couple of months, so can report back on my detention experience on thread no. 1074, or whatever it's reached by then.....
