I'm expecting 3 things today. 2 will likely happen, 1 I'm desperately hoping will happen.

Will happen -

  1. Trumps pick for Supreme Court.
  2. Trump will likely sign another EO undermining power of judicial branch of the government so they cannot overrule his EOs.

Hope will happen -
Congress repeals the act and DEALS with him!!!

I worry he will sign an EO undermining Congress - I suspect that will well and truly push the country into riots and civil war, which gives him the excuse to clamp down with military involvement.

GingerIvy · 30/01/2017 12:51

He can't legally change judiciary or Congress's powers by EO, as the whole system is set up to be a checks and balances thing. But clearly the legalities are not concerning him right now.

How can this creature be declawed, gagged or got rid of?

He is like a child who had id-ed on sunny delight and skittles and let loose in a China shop. I hope he tires himself out soon, gets bored playing Twitter King and decided he wants to be a train driver instead.

maggiethemagpie · 30/01/2017 12:59

Mycastapirate

*I hope while The Donald is busy on Twitter and signing EO's, that Melania is quietly filing for divorce and making plans to leave with Barron.

I have never felt so sorry for anyone as I do for those two*

You don't feel more sorry for families split up, living on different continents, not knowing when they'll see loved ones again, possibly being sent back to countries where they may be killed?

Really?

Formerpigwrestler9 · 30/01/2017 12:59

Its OK he just wants to 'MAKE AMERICA SAFE AGAIN'

Refugees in Kenya may face return to Somalia after US travel ban

BigBadgers · 30/01/2017 13:09

This from the gov.uk travel advice

"Temporary immigration measures are in place affecting British nationals who hold dual nationality with Libya, Iran, Iraq, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen. See Entry Requirements

You’ll need prior authorisation to enter the United States using a British passport, either through a visa, a Permanent Resident Card, or the Visa Waiver Programme. Restrictions apply depending on the type of passport you hold, your nationality, criminal history, and countries you may have recently visited. It’s your responsibility to know and understand the entry rules before you travel. See Entry Requirements."

The only problem is the US embassy has released a statement saying they are not issuing visa form dual nationals and not to apply of turn up for meetings in these circumstances. It's all got a bit Kafkaesque 'you can enter the country with a visa, but we won't give you a visa'
