Does anyone else feel disappointed by friends who have no idea what is happening and feel its nothing to do with us?

Also, does anyone else think that with these EO there will be now be bigoted and small minded people on the ground who suddenly feel that now they have a bit of power to turn people away, detain people in airports that they will lose the essence of human kindness?

I might not know the history of everything as much as some, but I am up on what's going on (partly due to this thread) and I have friends who are barely digesting that he's got elected! And not really interested either... I get that you don't want to be sat on a forum for hours but I'm amazed they aren't updating themselves every day. It does affect us after all.

Just read that Bannon link of his speech at the Vatican in 2014. What right has that wanker to lecture, he is a big supporter of UKIP and France's National Front. I think he is the power behind the throne at the moment and the one we really have to worry about Word on the street is that he's in league with the son in law Kushner and orange one is just a puppet.

Ive got a couple of friends who are posting 'nobody protested about what happened in rochdale or rotherham' and taking the piss out of anyone signing the petition on my FB feed this morning. Both of them do tend to miss a lot of things that don't affect them personally in general though!
Anyway, as far as the big orange turd goes, they're surely just giving him enough rope to hang himself with aren't they? Let him carry on causing major unrest and making a tit of himself and his trusted allies for a week or 2 while they gather enough evidence to impeach him in a watertight case?

Canary - ask themhow they feel about having their mobile phone contacts harvested & their social media scrutinised at the airport border control before they are let into the US & how they'd feel if one of their party, say husband or SIL was deemed unacceptable & bounced home onthe next return flight. That has to put a downer on anyone's dream family holiday.

We won't be travelling to the US any time soon in this atmosphere. Shame, as we'd been talking about Yellowstone via NYC this year or next.

Maybe we should ban Americans from coming here unless they've been vetted - any American with extreme views should be banned - we could look at their social media views or their church affiliation.

Or maybe America should ban the British given we are a hotbed of terrorist activity?

I wonder what will happen when a religiously inspired terrorist attack occurs in the USA? An attack on Muslims carried out by a Christian fundamentalist using weapons acquired legally in the USA?

Logical questions about stated positions is a great way to challenge views. Once someone states a position based on their opinion, it needs taking to the ultimate logical position.
