Just watching that press conference. It's fascinating.

May asked question again - the Turkish PM gave a great and long answer

Also, a female UK journalist asks a difficult question of Turkish PM on human rights - and are we weakening our position on human rights because of Brexit...I don't see Hopkins and the DM complaining about that journalist

Monkeyinshoes · 29/01/2017 20:26

Oh yes, May is very good at non-answers, she does it every week in PMQs.

Lweji · 29/01/2017 20:27

Even if this ban is reversed, how long before anyone trusts American promises again?

I hope the lesson is that people should pay more attention to what politicians say.

Trump did say what he was like. Many people voted for him.

This is what dictators do. They try to silence independent outlets by encouraging rich friends to buy or close them. We are in a scary place

Trump screens "Finding Dory" as hundreds protest immigration ban outside White House

Going back to the campaign, never mind if he'll be able to address a crisis at 3 am. He can't handle one at 3 pm. Angry

This is the point May didn't answer the question. It was 3 questions and she deliberately didn't answer about the USA until heckled.

Could you contact your MP to express your concerns re: current climate & your ILR? If they're good they'll aim for a question in the House as well as replying to you. Am sorry you're having such a worrying-stressful time.

Will sign then: always worry a bit about seeming like I might be... ech... it's tricky, the whole being British-Irish thing...

He picked the wrong person really: stubborn-as-anything History graduate. 1:1 Supervisions = more than adequate preparation, although it is somewhat bizarre discussing with someone who has a veneer of knowledge but no understanding - or grasp on Actual Facts - rather than Serious Experts...

When Trump first proposed Muslim ban, Sadiq Khan said he didn't want to be an "exception". Dual nationals should say same.

GingerIvy · 29/01/2017 20:38

Zebra I'm okay at the moment. No proposal to oust anyone from Britian that is non-EU, so only a low level concern at the moment. If things get heated in that respect, due to Trump's issues, then I will definitely do that.

Destinysdaughter · 29/01/2017 20:39

Kellyanne thinks people who said untrue things should be fired. The irony here is breathtaking.

Also Ginger please do take care of yourself. There's lots of us here ( and around the world ) that are horrified at what's happening and will do what we can to stand up to it. X

For my entire life the CIA has been this shadowy organisation carrying out mysterious but probably morally hideous operations overseas.

Now it's been sidelined by people who are MUCH WORSE Confused
