Overheard couple of girls at work, who I perceive to be my friends, saying I was crazy - think this was a reference to me talking loudly/quickly/being a bit erratic during a post work drink as was tipsy and have been sleeping badly.

Had agreed to go shopping with one of them today and whilst she agreed yesterday, we didn't formalise arrangements and I haven't heard from her since. Feel upset and like she doesn't like me - not a big deal in the long run but at least make up an excuse!

Hi OP, yes, don't drink as much, no one can ply you with alcohol, unless you let them. Find an alternative soft drink, that you like, to drink in between.
At least you know, why they labelled you crazy, in my opinion, better than manic. Moving on, put it behind you, it's no big deal, take it on the chin, and ask your friend, if she's still up for shopping.
Remember, ' He who laughs last, laughs longest !'.
It won't be long, before they slip up, one way or another, it's called being human. 😄

You acted crazy...sye called you crazy. Draw a line under it and dont drink as much in the future. If she wants to go to the gym with you it's not like she is trying to avoid you...which would be understandable

Just act normally with them, continue with uour plans and text her about shopping, join the gym.

Then also dial down the drinking and sleep more, make sure you eat before you drink. Behaving as you have done may have made them uncomfortable, but if you behave normally when sober they will just shrug it off.

Part of the issue may be confidence, as in you are unsure how to behave when socialising, maybe get over excited when booze is in the loop and then can't control your behaviour. As such controlling your booze is the only way to resolve this until you get comfortable.
